Former President Biden Diagnosed With 'Aggressive' Prostate Cancer, His Office Says

Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his office said Sunday.

Biden was seen by doctors last week after urinary symptoms and a prostate nodule were found. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday, with the cancer cells having spread to the bone.

"While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management," his office said. "The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians."

Prostate cancers are given a score called a Gleason score that measures, on a scale of 1 to 10, how the cancerous cells look compared with normal cells. Biden’s office said his score was 9, suggesting his cancer is among the most aggressive.

Given the level of medical screening and care given to Presidents, his physician (and his family) has probably known of the cancer for some time. With regular screenings, cancer this advanced is not “suddenly” discovered.

That's what I was thinking. I had a slightly elevated Gleeson detected in Spring 2021. Then a few months later they double checked and decided it would be best to get Proton Ray treatments. But first they ran some tests to see if it entered my bones. Those test indicated negative. Then starting in March 2022 I began my 28 treatments for the prostate cancer. Those treatments concluded in May and my Gleeson levels have remained low ever since with no sign of prostate cancer.

What AMAZES me is Biden had the BEST medical treatment of almost anyone in the world yet the very TREATABLE (if caught early) prostate cancer was allow to continue until it entered his bones. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE????

Every time he got a medical check up his blood work should have included a PSA test which would have given a much earlier warning than this for prostate cancer.

So WHY didn't they give him a PSA test? They gave me one when my Gleeson elevated just a bit.

My dad my Dad made it less than two months. His bone scan lit up like a christmas tree. Psa over 200. He quit getting his annual checkups when he retired. Thought he just was getting old and had bph.

I check every year. Have to remind the doc to order it on labs just about every year.

Well, with the current administration in control, I’m fairly confident that the monthly retirement salary to JRB will be discontinued at the proper time and not years later.

Great! My PSA was about 7. Had ADT and proton radiation therapy. In March, my PSA was 0.03.

How long were you on ADT, and what was the medication? I took orgyvyx (sp?) for about a year.

I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer with 8 bone mets I’m October 2014. I’ve responded so well to a ¾ regular dosage of Xtandi, my oncologist at MD Anderson is very confident my cancer will never progress.

So you can’t predict Biden’s future time of death. He could be around for a number of years; and with his dementia, maybe Jill will just decline treatment for him. That would not be a bad decision.
