So NOW they care about the deficit.
This was predicted.
Mike Johnson postponed this vote this week. If anyone is/was paying attention, we knew this was gonna happen.
If it goes to the Senate - will it make it out of there?
The article is behind a paywall, but are they not voting for it because it costs too much, or because there aren’t enough restrictions on government or because it doesn’t move things along fast enough?
I’m not clear on how many of the DOGE cuts have been included in the budget (or excluded...)
I haven’t heard if any of the useless agencies that were identified have been officially defended by congress in this budget...
er... “defunded”...
If the Chip Gang get what they want, the bill will be DOA in the Senate. If they don’t, it will be DOA in the House.
Nancy Pelosi was every nasty thing she was called and more, but she kept the herd in line the only way that works in DC, which is the intimidation folder. It will never happen with us.
Cuts to Medicaid, food stamps and subsidies for clean energy would partly offset the roughly $3.8 trillion cost of those tax measures over 10 years, as well as increased spending on the military and immigration enforcement.

3.8 Trillion? Is the Times being kind? Estimates of Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill has had deficit increases of at least 5 trillion.
Sometimes I really believe that the JACKASS should be the GOP mascot.
It costs too much.
“Conservatives”?
“3.8 Trillion? Is the Times being kind? Estimates of Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill has had deficit increases of at least 5 trillion.”
Spend more to save money... Completely Illogical and irrational... There is some stuff we don’t see in this. And Trump didn’t put it there. Lobbyists to the house did.
Baffling. Conservatives upset that Conservatives want to be Conservative. This whole “You have to spend money to save money!” concept is the dumbest thing I have ever seen.
Serious question: Is there a reason we keep sticking with these huge omnibus bills? Why can’t we do a 1 page bill that says “2017 tax cuts are permanent.”. Another 1 pager that says “no tax on tips or SS”. Etc. It seems like these would be MUCH easier to pass, or at least get their votes on record...
You can’t trust anything the media or CBO says. They ALWAYS lie and are mostly wrong.
The increased revenue generated by a stimulus in economic activity will more than make up for what they are claiming is the deficit.
papa is coming back to town today, and will set things straight next week.
The "compromise" bills that will be offered will no doubt have a number of immediate and substantial grift for select Democrat supporters and a worthless promise of "Trillion-dollar savings (over a ten-year period) which will never be implemented. A couple of lucky Republican Congressmen will get a few scraps from the table.
We have seen this dance move before.
If it gives a win to President Trump, it’ll never pass. Deep state is firmly in control of DC.
