However, to my mind, Aircraft Carriers are on the verge of obsolescence. Those hypersonic missiles will make swiss cheese of them.

Extremely unlikely. Even if such missiles actually were immune to intercepts, they have to actually hit the carrier. That means finding it (in real time), knowing where it's going (in real time), and adjusting for evasive maneuvers (in real time), with an object that has minimal time for course corrections, as well as extreme difficulties communicating with any external guidance updates, or using it's own seeker head.

Non-ballistic hypersonics are harder to intercept, but only actually useful against a static land target, not something moving.

I have read a lot of Chinese history and been fascinated by it since high school in the 60s and have long thought of the current regime as the Red or Communist Dynasty. Its actions and ideology toward the people is duplications of actions by past emperors over the last 3 thousand years. This dynasty will, too, be overthrown or simply collapse. Unfortunately that may not be this century but it will happen.

They have a curious mixture of communism and capitalism that might possibly work out for a good while. If a recession or a depression were to engulf their economy, then all bets are off............

They’ll start some crap, call it a “Great Patriotic War”, and send their human wave hordes to die.

It’s what ChiCom assholes do.

“Mussolini essentially created Fascism in Italy after WWI as a reaction and organized opposition to the expansion of Communism from the USSR”

That is an important insight, but I would re-frame it somewhat as simply an internal struggle amongst the radical Left, over who would be in charge. Mussolini wanted to be in charge (not the Soviet leader), and assessed Nationalism as a superior mythology to class struggle, to support achieving totalitarian dictatorship (the real aim of the Left, since Marx). Fascism is just an alternative con job for public consumption, to achieve the same dictatorial objective.

From Wikipedia:

“Mussolini was originally a socialist politician and journalist at the Avanti! (Marxist) newspaper. In 1912, he became a member of the National Directorate of the Italian Socialist Party (PSI)”
