“ The guy was late to check in. His fault”
************************************
I agree. There’s a reason that the airports ask passengers to try to arrive two hours before the flight.
And who knows what happened before what is shown in the video. They’ve obviously been going at it for some time and are engaged in a “I’m recording you” war. This is not about race.
The link in the post above yours tells the whole story. He arrived 50 minutes before the flight, wasn’t able to check in electronically at the kiosk because that would only work until 60 minutes before the flight, and when he went to check in at the desk he was told there was a $25 fee for them to check him in.
He eventually agreed to pay the fee but muttered under his breath that he would never fly this !@#$ airline again. And then these employees said they wouldn’t check him in and got all huffy with him. They were absolutely able to check him in; they were mad because he muttered under his breath about the $25 fee. And then they started acting like a$$holes.
In the end he bought a different ticket, then called the airline to complain about the treatment he received, they reimbursed him, and they wouldn’t let those 34d-party-contracted employees work with Frontier Airlines any more.
They obviously allow check-ins for people who get there late, because their policy is to charge $25 if they have to be checked in at the desk because they’re too late for the electronic check-in. These workers were throwing their weight around because they were mad, saying they didn’t have to check him even after he paid the extra fee. It was totally unprofessional and Frontier recognized that it was unprofessional.
From that article it sounded like the security officers who were there weren’t surprised that it went like this. They had seen it many times before with Frontier and said they were sure they’d see it some more too. And I believe it just because of the boldness of these women. If the video hadn’t gone viral they probably would have gotten away with it, as they probably had many times before.
Shouldn’t matter. He paid for the seat. If he’s not on the plane he still paid for the seat and said seat should go vacant because it was paid for. You go to a concert, comedy show, football game and sit in a seat you pay for, if you don’t show the seat remains vacant. These airlines and their BS fees have gotten ridiculous and those here saying oh he was late! Screw his lateness, doesn’t matter, he paid for the seat, if he doesn’t get to the gate in time that’s on him.
You are correct. However, the extremely rude and unprofessional attitude of the attendants toward someone who is civil warrants they be fired with prejudice.
The guy was apparently thirty minutes early, based on a video I’d watched earlier.
