Ok here’s an idea to deport millions more illegals *and* provide due process:

We currently have around 700 immigration judges

Fun fact - they work for Trump’s executive branch, not SCOTUS and are appointed by AG Bondi

They have a backlog of over 3.6 million cases, which equates to a 4.5 year backlog

Why not provide billions more in funding, hire 5,000 new “immigration judges” on a temporary basis, and have them clear out 15+ million illegal aliens with due process by 2028?

Offer judge positions to all of the Jan 6th former political prisoners.

There is no requirement to have a law degree to be a Federal judge.

It would go a ways to helping do right by those whose lives were upended unjustly. And they have a good deal of familiarity with the federal criminal legal system.

You don't need to hire any new employees. There is no requirement that an immigration judge even have a law degree or be an attorney. They are administrative judges not criminal. They don't have to be a member of the bar and are not considered officers of the "court". Any currently serving civil service employee can be appointed to the position.

We did not need billions of dollars and "comprehensive immigration reform" to secure the border. All it took was the will to apply existing law.

There are tens of thousands of current federal employees with extensive knowledge of immigration laws and regulations because they are in the field applying those laws daily.

The only thing an immigration judge does is ensure the process is followed and apply the law as written. It's not that hard.

Some judge would come out and state that his ruling is against the constitution and that any attempt to overturn or ignore his ruling is grounds for impeachment.

yes, I know, but would you doubt that the libs would try this?

Nope. They are administrative law judges. They can be hired and fired at will by the President. Only Article III Judges (district court, court of appeals, and Supremes) require Senate confirmation.

IF so, Trump should fire them all, and then appoint a new group who will not confuse economic migrants with legitimate political asylum claims. The ALJ makes a judgment call on the facts. So, we need the right ALJs deciding such cases.
