Looking at that list, I might add Economics to it, provided it was based on curriculum outlined by Thomas Sowell.

It seems mankind went to university for a long time in fields of study that would benefit all humanoids. Kind of seems like we veered a bit.

While in the military I went to night school majoring in Electronics Engineering. I already had 60 hours when I enlisted but had to lose credits at each new base as the different resident schools wouldn't transfer all of my credits.

I completed the core technology upper division courses in less than two years. I had to spend an additional year filling in the graduation requirements with crap liberal arts courses.

In the end, I had taken over 140 credit hours before I finally graduated. In USAF Tech School, we did almost the same thing in about 7 months regarding relevant subject matter.

It's called a BS for a reason.

Shall we take away people's choices in what they wish to learn?

Schooling for employment and schooling for personal enrichment are very different things. People just need to choose wisely, but still according to free choice.

Most 4-year colleges where parents spend a small fortune to transform an optimistic bright student into an unhirable godless socialist of dubious gender all too ready to move back home to their basement.

“Pres Trump: BA in Economics
VP Vance: BA in Political Science and Philosophy
Mike Johnson: BA in Business Admin
John Thune: BA in Business
Pete Hegseth: BA in Political Science
Pam Bondi: BA in Criminal Justice
Ken Paxton: BA in Psychology
Ted Cruz: BA in Public Policy
Ron DeSantis: BA in History
Greg Abbott: BA in Business Admin
Gavin Newsome: BA in Political Science
Tulsi Gabbard: BA in Business Admin
Tom Homan: BA in Criminal Justice
Marco Rubio: BA in Political Science
Kristi Noem: BA in Political Science
Sarah Palin: BA in Communication
John Fetterman: BA in Finance
Sarah Huckabee Sanders: BA in Political Science
Kari Lake: BA in Communication”

I have read that many of the Chinese government and even the CCP leaders have at least BA’s in hard science/technical degrees.

...Higher ed is going to crash...

I think you are right. More than half of our current number of students probably shouldn't be there.

Looks like politicians are people who had easy majors ...

And the very idea of “political science” is an abomination.

No.

excuse me ...

HELL NO!!!

Instead, we should get government out of the business of issuing or guaranteeing student loans and educational grants.

You want a degree in whatever, you find a way to pay for it. Don't stick We the Taxpayers with the bill.

Do that, and the system will right itself.

for it to crash, we would truly need to revoke any and all subsidies/funding to higher ed and let it operate as a true free market enterprise.

Based on what I'm seeing from Trump with regards to Harvard, this may actually happen in my lifetime!

Our number of colleges and universities could easily be halved, I think.

Anything that will not assure you a good paying job needs to go. Both my degrees were in Science, Geology and years later Pharmacy. The day I graduated I had a job waiting.

Relative to the arts I am confused. The arts are well worth studying but should it be on the public dime? Perhaps this should be confined to private institutions?

The school of education should be ripped to its roots and disposed of, as it is leftist indoctrination and a danger. That school needs total reformation.

not. just higher education but likely all preschool on through university, masters doctorate etc etc, it’s all been distorted and everyone working at the universities is helping the problem, not helping the solution.

So…. People with easy majors are running the country? I wonder if there could be another way of viewing this state of affairs…

I’m sure there are many ways of viewing it ... but my way is correct.

And Political “Science” is an abomination.
