https://www.foxnews.com/us/second-suspect-arrested-connection-dhs-secretary-noems-purse-snatching

“A second arrest has been made in connection to the theft of Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s purse while she was out having lunch on Easter with her family.

Authorities announced that they apprehended the accomplice believed to be tied to the series of thefts in D.C. in Miami on Sunday.

“The individual is believed to be a co-conspirator in those incidents with the primary defendant who is accused of committing a robbery against Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem,” a spokesperson for the Secret Service shared in a statement.”

Bustamante-Leiva was previously arrested in 2015 for a five-month theft spree in London, during which he stole about $28,000 in phones, wallets, and computers, according to a Daily Mail report at the time.

Just another poor migrant looking to breathe free. < / S >

Why is the brand name of her stolen property of relevant? The question of the theft is not about whether it was a Montgomery Ward bag or a Gucci bag. Did he steal the damn bag?

This shit just really irritates me

Not gonna fault Noem, I've been known to carry a few grand once in a while.

I might be inclined to assist her buckling her money belt good and tight, if she asked nicely.

I held out for years when fellow Michigander Elmore Leonard contended “most criminals are dumb.” Now I’ve seen some.

“They arrested him at a second bar where he was listening to an iPod he had stolen from someone.

He faced 22 separate charges of theft between July and December 2014...” Newsweek, April 27, 2025.

It really ticks me off that we have imported so many criminals into our nation. The media pretends it is natural and nothing could be done to stop such crimes.

“3, including metro Atlanta man, charged with laundering $30 million in drug money”

“According to court documents, Nasir and Naim Ullah and Huang allegedly worked for an organization that laundered at least $30 million in profits related to cocaine and fentanyl distribution.

Officials said the drugs entered the U.S. illegally, through Mexico. The suspects and their co-conspirators allegedly traveled throughout the U.S. to collect drug money.”

Did he steal the damn bag?

Yes.

And it is hinted that he targeted her because it was a expensive bag.

Which is a reasonable supposition.

I’ve carried that much cash myself, but not in a handbag LOL.

There are times when a credit card just isn’t the answer.

Point taken.

I interpreted it as hinting that she was at fault for wearing an expensive bag.

BTW, what is it with women paying such vast amounts for a purse? My wife makes them for fun.
