A lot of Boomers utterly fail to see how much the economy has changed. It’s NOT the same.

I like to look at living costs decades ago, compare that to the rate of inflation , and compare that to what various types of jobs paid years ago. I think that gives you a good starting point to see what young people face nowadays. The world has changed. Young people face more difficulties making ends meet than people did decades ago.

It isnt the same.

However, we can also say the young people of today are not close to the young people 40 years ago. Made of much less sterner stuff.

You are right. Back in the day, we didn't have $800 telephones and 88” TV’s and all the channels under the sun.

Lifestyles are different today. Cigarettes were $1.25 a pack, gas was around $1.00 per gallon, and a tap beer cost $1.75.

When I was young, instead of trips, fancy watches or a fancy car, I paid off my student loan. These days, a student loan is almost as much as a house. I think life was cheaper back in the 1980-2000. I know that I had more fun back in the day!

When I was growing up married couples went out to eat on special occasions - not 6 or 7 times a week. Delivery food didn’t exist’...

Check out a house built in the 1940’s and you’ll see there’s almost no closet space - because people didn’t own that many clothes - and as kids we were taught how to ‘mend’ clothes that got torn. No one would do that today...

In 1986, I was working for $3.35/hr-20 hrs a week- and going to school. With that income, I paid for my apartment, a car payment on a new Honda Accord, my school tuition (in cash, no loan) and for all of my essentials and utilities.

Everyone I knew had a car and happily worked whatever job they could get - restaurant employment, picking tobacco, retail- even selling magazines. EVERYONE had a goal in life - education/trade school, dating, marriage, family.

Now we are flush with lazy gamer stoners and pregnant teenagers who are fat, loudmouthed and worthless.

You have that correct. The hatred for boomers is off the charts for young people. When you listen to them, they make sense. They have a point. The numbers for cost of living in all areas point to the young having a legit complaint. And they support Trump

LOL, true, it's actually much easier to make money now. Anyone with a computer and access to the internet has the opportunity to open their own worldwide goldmine they can literally operate from home, sitting in their underwear.

Having helped some young family members get a hold of their financial situation, I found the usual biggest problem they had came down to 3 things. 1. Lack of financial discipline(they don't have their priorities identified & mapped, nor do they stick to the order they are in.) 2. Their Discretionary Spending is above their Discretionary Income, often way above. 3. Lack of financial knowledge. This is one of the most important skills a person needs in life. The key thing about this skill though, you don't necessarily need to personally have that skill. That's what financial advisors are for. I truly believe that young folks should sit down with one once a year to learn how to grow their wealth and to find their mistakes early on in order to learn from them.

I am a Boomer. Things have changed. There is no real comparison to how things were when I was in my 20s and 30s. To say otherwise is delusional.

The American economy is way out of kilter. This is not Trump’s fault. The NWO has been slowly working achieve it’s goal. As you can see, they were almost there until November of 2024.

They haven’t given up yet either.
