Nevertheless, both Both Duke and Pat Buchanan ran on the same near policies getting blacks off welfare. He pushed and campaigned for a legislative proposal which was the requirement that welfare recipients be tested for the use of narcotics. The recipients had to show themselves to be drug-free to receive state and federal benefits under his proposal. There’s nothing wrong with that policy is it? Hell, even Bill Clinton adopted some of Duke’s campaign issues when he ran for president against Bush 1.
