Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has filed a resolution to remove U.S. District Court Judge James E. Boasberg for failing to uphold the Constitution’s “good behavior” clause—without requiring the traditional two-thirds Senate vote.
The resolution, submitted in the House of Representatives, alleges Judge Boasberg—currently Chief Judge of the powerful United States District Court for the District of Columbia—knowingly abused his position to interfere with the constitutional authority of President Donald Trump.
The resolution declares Judge Boasberg’s conduct a breach of constitutional order, particularly his unlawful meddling in President Trump’s lawful directive to deport members of Venezuela’s notorious Tren de Aragua gang under the Alien Enemies Act.

I’m never going to call impotent grandstanding or virtue signaling brave or great no matter who does it or no matter what the reason is.
It’s not. Most constitutional experts agree that remedy for dealing with bad behavior is impeachment. There’s no way scotus would go along with it even if the judge was a mass murderer.
The House can defund the court, impeach, investigate and subpoena records, such as financial records of relatives which could get judge in real trouble.
Trump’s cabinet could ignore orders with the promise that Trump would pardon them preemptively. If things keep going down this path, that could be the Trump card that needs to be played.
Pardons are in the constitution to reverse the abuse of justice . I can’t think of a better use for a presidential pardon. If federal judges are going to try to indict Trump officials, Trump should preemptively pardon them if scotus remains in hibernation.
(The House can defund the court, impeach, investigate and subpoena records, such as financial records of relatives which could get judge in real trouble.)
But they’re not. Why is that?
Robert’s is providing cover for the inferior judge.
“Why is that?”
Professional Courtesy?
“So now, we can impeach judges and get them removed by a simply majority in the Senate?”
It isn’t impeachment. It is dissolving his court. They’d be laying him off because his job is no longer there. That only requires a majority.
DO IT!
Biggs is running for Gov. in Az in ‘26. He has my vote!!!
This is how the Congress is supposed to act. Congress will certainly let the Article III Judges know what lane they are required, by statutes, to stay in.
If not, then the Congress is in on this Judicial coup!!
“”...failing to uphold the Constitution’s “good behavior” clause...””
Yes, having a major conflict of interest (his daughter’s gig), yet insisting on ruling over the case anyway is definitely judicial ‘bad behavior’.
(then the Congress is in on this Judicial coup!!)
This is the moment for Speaker Johnson to show he’s a true MAGA Patriot.
Maybe...until the Dems decide to use it against judges and justices they don't like.
Turtle warned Democrats they'd regret overturning the judicial filibuster for lower court nominees, and he was right. Because when the Republicans got into power, they expanded that policy to apply to the Supreme Court as well, and that was a disaster for the Democrats.
The GOP trying to bypass the impeachment process to get rid of a piddly district court judge is just plain stupid. It'd come back to bite us in the ass, only much harder, the next time the Democrats control Congress.
There is no law to support this silliness.
Exactly what this is since there is a 0% chance this would even get out of the House. Notice how many co-sponsors he's lined up....
Not.
This is the kind of crap third rate legislators do to grab some headlines and preach to their choir. Accomplishes absolutely nothing, but gets the mouth-breathers fired up, and maybe he gets some contributions out of it. Hell, even the actual impeachment attempt is going nowhere in the House. And as dumb as that is, at least the process itself is legit.
He is complicit. His public statement a few weeks ago was to signal to all the judges to continue doing what they were doing because Robert’s/USSC had their backs
If we cross our fingers and toes, close our eyes, tap our heels together and wish really hard... Maybe?
50% + 1
good behavior discussion

So how do you get rid of this “piddly” district court judge? Be specific!
