Excuse me if this is not something that should be posted but by chance since I am curious. Does anyone know of how to apply for positions in the Trump administration. Kind of curious on how one could contribute if so inclined.

USAJobs is the web site for applying for Federal jobs.

Nothing to apologize for. One thing you could do is get involved at a more local level to get MAGA candidates into office.

I thought under Trump and via DOGE, many government jobs are being eliminated in the name of cutting waste.

Heck, even jobs held by veterans at the VA, some who have worked there for many years, some even doing good and productive work, have been eliminated, resulting in their unceremonious firings.

“Does anyone know of how to apply for positions in the Trump administration. Kind of curious on how one could contribute if so inclined.”

Oh, so you don’t want any old federal entry level government job then. You want a job in the “Administration” where you can “contribute if you feel like it”. Perhaps you are looking for a secretary cabinet level position, or some sort of deputy undersecretary or an undersecretary to the undersecretary?

I presume then that you have a stellar resume, some mad skills and relevant experience, and can bring these and your unique intellect and perspective to the cause.

Send your resume to BigBalls@Doge.gov and good luck.

If hired be prepared to send an email weekly to “BigBalls” with 5 things you accomplished every week.

Note: One of those 5 things if Googling “what exactly am I supposed to be doing in this job?” is not acceptable.

I asked Grok and it laid out the basic procedure(s) for applying for such jobs - it was lengthy so here’s the final summary paragraph:

“Since the exact process for 2025 hasn’t been fully publicized yet, start by checking DonaldJTrump.com or reaching out to the transition team via official channels once announced. Networking with Trump allies and submitting your credentials early will give you an edge. The administration values loyalty, so highlighting any past support for Trump (e.g., campaign work or public advocacy) could strengthen your case.”

Did you miss the part where they are laying people off left and right?

I don’t see the need for snarky replies to a fellow FReeper when he asks a legitimate question. There are many important jobs at every level that are currently held by radical liberals. Some of those jobs will not be cut but the particular liberal doing that job needs to go because he/she is far too woke or are straight up DEI hires. Those are areas where conservatives, and in particular, FReepers would be far better suited. Democrats filled these jobs with other democrats to advance woke liberal goals at every level. I would hope that we could regain some control by installing well qualified staff that also recognize the value of the Constitution. There is no question that solid conservatives would approach any job with a different mindset.

Thank you and all the others for the replies.

I am quite comfortable in my current position and situation. The only reason I would consider a change if it positively impacted the country as a whole since it would more than likely detract from my family time.

I am not seeking an entry level position and have a specific skill set that President Trump could use immediately. But if I had a time machine and could reduce some of the years it may be worth it again.

One other reason I brought this up was in case any other of us who love this country, fear God, and have common sense may have thought of what they could do to help the Trump administration and wanted to know more on how to go about it.

Thanks again everyone for your patience with my question.

If you have a specific skill set then you can do a search for that skill/job title on USAJobs.

They have all kinds of jobs there all over the country—and if your skill is needed then they will still be hiring.

President Trump announced early on that for every four people laid off there would be one new person hired.

You could be one of those.

“even jobs held by veterans at the VA”

Vet is loose term and just because you area vet doesn’t mean you are productive. Remember only 10% of those vets have ever been actively engaged in combat while the other 90% were sitting behind the wire playing volleyball (IE: Air Force).

“Did you miss the part where they are laying people off left and right?”

Not political appointments. They are still filling those. The folks getting fired are called “careers.”

“Politicals” should be the ones implementing Trump’s policy and making sure the “careers” are acting in line with the President’s policies.

“”Does anyone know of how to apply for positions in the Trump administration. Kind of curious on how one could contribute if so inclined.””

Can’t answer your question but I can give you some grandmotherly advice...Drop the “of” (how to apply) and “on” (how one could)...they are not needed.

“does anyone KNOW how” and “curious HOW one could”

Proper English and good writing skills are important if you’re looking for ANY job! Well, not just ANY - but you know what I mean. Good luck and use the resources suggested here...

I’m guessing you are not familiar with the Tooth-to-tail ratio.

For every GI Combat Joe serving in combat missions, there are at least 5 (or likely more others) in mission critical supporting roles – the – GI Joe Procurement Officer, GI Joe Payroll/HR and Benefits Admin, GI Joe Logistics and Supply Chain Officer, GI Joe Medics, GI Joe Food Services - Cooks, GI Joe Intelligence Support Officer, GI Joe IT Support Tech, GI Joe Postal Services, and so on and so on.

Some are enlisted personnel and some are contractors. I once dated a guy, a civilian employee who worked at the Aberdeen MD Proving grounds as a procurement specialist. He was a civilian employee but with a high security clearance because some of the the contracts he worked on for equipment and ballistics, etc., were to be eventually used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

While you may think their service is unimportant and without merit or recognition, without these very important non-combatant roles, our combat soldiers in the battlefield could not function.

FWIW my dad served in a combat unit in the SPT during WWII and saw heavy battle and up close and personal, the loss in battle of many of his comrades in arms in the Bougainville and Philippines campaigns among others, while serving in the US Army 37th Infantry Division.

But FWIW, my dad said he was forever grateful for the US Navy troop transport ships and the “SWABIES” for keeping him well fed, entertained most importantly, his feet dry while “island hopping”.

When he was sent home, near death from Malaria and given penicillin that he was known t be allergic to and that nearly killed him (he used to say that the “Japs” shot me twice but it was the US Army that nearly succeeded in killing me – I got 2 Purple Hearts for the Japs trying to kill me but nothing for the Arm trying to kill me), mere days before the end of the war in the South Pacific, the hospital ship that brought him to San Fransico and the care he received at the US Army Letterman General Hospital.

I recall him telling me about when he was on a hospital ship heading home, about the US Navy Nurse caring for him, who had the rank of a Lieutenant and well out ranked my dad.

My dad had left the US some 4 years earlier, from his home in NJ to a training camp in NC then on his way across the country by train to war in the South Pacific and finally on a troop transport ship that left out of San Francisco and under the Golden Gate Bridge and he swore if he lived to get back home, he wanted to go back under that bridge and see it with his own eyes again.

He was still very sick but insisted he wanted to go on deck as the troop hospital ship, FWIW it was the very first ship returning troops back after the Japanese surrendered because he wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge coming home.

His nurse relented and gave him a wool sweater to keep him warm and wheeled him on the deck of the ship.

My dad told me it was very chilly and foggy, then suddenly just as the ship came to the Golden Gate Bridge, the fog suddenly cleared, and he saw that all the traffic on the bridge had stopped, and hundreds of people had gotten out of their cars and were waving and cheering.

Good post.

In 9’out of 10 cases, a MAGA FReeper in any of the millions of remaining positions, would be much preferable to whatever Leftist is in there now.

“I’m guessing you are not familiar with the Tooth-to-tail ratio.”

More familiar than you are Sugar Plumb. I m a retired CW5 who has been in combat, made headlines of Army times and received the DFC through the marines I supported. Hard to achieve most of that from the Army because they are rather stingy with decorations and awards.

“I once dated a guy, a civilian employee who worked at the Aberdeen MD Proving grounds as a procurement specialist. He was a civilian employee but with a high security clearance”

And he may have been the problem of us getting the shit we needed when we needed it. I have been on goth sides. First as a warrant officer for 28+ years then as a money whore and found that side had nothing to with the money because it was all about the money. Civilians contractors are a drag on the military period. The military can and should do their own work and not rely on KBR and contractors like.

Sounds like you have an opinion but that is about all and we know what opinions are. Unless you have been in actual combat you need to slam your pie hole because I have been there and done that, got the tshirt and sometimes wake stuck to the ceiling. The military needs to run like a well oiled machine and we did not because of all the civilian contract personnel and JAG officers threating us when we just wanted to do our mission.

Now back to the 10 to 1 ratio. Yes it takes 10 to support for a trigger runner. From the time of the knights in shining armor it takes the same amount of support. Without that support we could not function but we do not need the civilian contractors when the military can do it without them.
