Thousands of Ukrainian dead, millions became refugees, Ukrainian women forced to sell their bodies in foreign lands, residential & commercial buildings destroyed, infra structure destroyed, and that is irrelevant to you? Are you that cold hearted or just have low IQ?

My observation ("That is irrelevant!") was in response to your insincere question ("Can you tell me what Ukraine has gained by asking NATO membership?").

Your mocking question attempts to imply that Ukraine was reckless to apply for NATO membership - as though a sovereign nation did not have the right to choose the military alliances to which it belongs.

No one objects to Russia allying itself with North Korea or Iran. No one feels entitled to then invade Russia on account of that.

By the same token, Russia must tolerate it when other countries choose its friends.

I grieve for the vast destruction which Putin's Russia has wrought on peaceful Ukraine. I long for the day when Putin's head is on a pike at the gates of the Kremlin, and Ukraine can again breathe free.

Regards,

1. Ukraine ceding the rest of the oblasts that Russia has not yet captured.

There, fixed it for you!

By the way: I agree wholeheartedly with your comprehensive analysis of the situation! I tend to forget some of Putin's lesser war objectives (like the suppression of Ukrainian language culture on Ukrainian soil or his demands for an emasculated Ukraine) because they pertain to an uncertain future - whereas I tend to focus on his current war crimes, viz. the ongoing loss of life.

Thanks for providing some balance!

Regards,

I certainly don't want to pay to rebuild Ukraine.

Nobody is saying that the U.S. or the Western alliance will have to pay to rebuild Ukraine.

We will seize Putin's offshore holdings, liquidate his Swiss bank accounts, and confiscate those of all the oligarchs now in power. We have already frozen most of their foreign assets, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Putin and his cronies will pay dearly for the Crimes against Humanity of which they are guilty.

Learn something from Mexico.
Mexico is flourishing. Ukraine is unmitigated disaster.

I can’t believe the merciless beating Ukrainian people have suffered because Zelenski was pushing for NATO membership.

Let Mexico try to fend off an invasion of its territory by TWO nuclear powers, and see how they fare!

The United States does not have the ambition to conquer Mexico, erase its language and culture, and turn Mexicans into Anglo-Americans. You are fooling yourself (or trying to fool us) if you think that Russia is just acting out of a sense of self-preservation.

You always miss simple points? Is this your normal habit? Did you attend public school by any chance?

I dispute your contention that the root of this war is Zelensky seeking NATO membership. Rather, he was seeking NATO membership because he knew full well that Russia does not accept Ukrainian independence and has the goal to reabsorb Ukraine into Russia. Do you miss this simple point?

Did you miss how well Mexico is doing by not joining military pact with China?
Mexican women are not selling their bodies in Florida. Ukrainian women are.

Ukraine is trying to protect itself from total subjugation by Russia. But I guess that you would be OK to that. As long as you have your freedom the rest of the world can rot, right?

There are 200 countries in the world. Russia has only invaded Ukraine. Why is that?

More Propaganda—its coming in thick folks, real think. Stop Putin here or he will be in New York in a few weeks! The Red menace is about to strike—Send more men, weapons, and money—mostly money! Saint Zelenskyy will stop the evil hordes. Sorry —the joke is on us. In truth—Nothing in All Ukraine is worth a single American Life.

You are still not answering the question. You are perfectly OK with Russia subjugating Ukraine, aren’t you?

If Ukraine did something wrong to Russia, it does make sense for Russia to get even. I am not familiar with the history of disputes between those two. But events do not happen in vacuum.

If Russia wanted simply to conquer a neighbor, Russia would have attacked much small neighbors first.

I am not pro-Russia and I am not pro-Ukraine. What I care most is the Fugly national debt USA has and growing by Trillions every year. My children and grand children will carry that burden on their shoulders. I am strongly against sending any money into foreign wars. Unless USA was attacked by some country, USA has no money to get involved in any foreign wars.

Ukraine's offense is its independence. Do not buy all the Russian excuses for their invasion. Russian doctrine, as taught in their military academies, is that Ukraine is an artificial country, an invention of anti-Russian western forces. The goal is to eventually to bring Ukraine back under Moscow's control. This is why Putin has put forward his maximalist demands, and why Ukraine cannot surrender to Russia. We are fooling ourselves if we think that this is just about NATO expansion or territorial disputes.

It is one thing to object to US involvement in Ukraine. It is another to disparage Ukraine's attempts to maintain its independence, the same independence that you enjoy.

I feel pity for Ukraine people. One of my secretary was from Ukraine and she was lovely woman. I do not feel scorn for ordinary Ukes.
