Everybody knows that President Trump wants to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. But yesterday’s phone conversation between Trump and Putin appears to demonstrate that Vladimir is not serious about peace.
Putin kept Trump waiting over an hour, according to reports, as Putin was addressing the annual congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Moscow before he laughed off a warning that he was leaving it late for his call to Trump.
During the call, Putin rejected Trump’s proposal for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, instead agreeing to a 30-day pause in attacks on energy and infrastructure. Yet, just hours after the call, Putin’s forces conducted an airstrike on the energy infrastructure of Slovyansk, a city of 100,000 people in the Donetsk region, according to local reports, leaving part of the city without electricity...

Yes.
Regards,
I think he doesn’t want NATO neocon war mongers banging at his front door.
What he wants is Ukraine.
If you have not noticed, it is Russia that has invaded a neighboring country, not NATO.
It's a bit more complex than that. There are perfectly legitimate reasons that have been articulated fully by people smarter than me. You can find them. I admit it's a bit harder than just hating Putin and Russia.
Not all of Ukraine. He wants to keep the Crimean Peninsula, along with Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. He also wants to keep the rest of Ukraine out of NATO.
NATO already invaded Ukraine years before Russia invaded in 2022. Only dummies do not know this is a proxy war for NATO using Ukes to do the fighting and dying.

Trump is not an idiot who is easily “played” by Putin. Ukraine supporters, notably in the Murdoch empire, are seizing on this one attack as proof that Putin agreed to cease what he has no intention of ceasing. Let’s see whether this continues.
Captain Obvious makes an appearance.
“What does Vladimir want more: money or land?”
My guess is neither. He wants to see the total destruction of Ukraine’s military which he perceives as an ongoing threat, NATO’s spearhead.
“according to reports”. What reports? Your sister Sarah? Lost me there.
Putin wants all of the Ukraine.
Who’s to stop him?
Only a military force backed and funded by the United States.
But Uncle Sam has been there and done that for way too long.
Ultimately this is about NATO.
Putin invaded for a lot of reasons.
But number one he didn’t want NATO expansion so close to much of his border.
Number two he thought the best move was to invade a non-Nato country while it was still not subject to Article Five.
Trump is in a bad place.
The little dictator throwing hissy fits has undermined whatever reasonable deal Trump might have negotiated.
Trump at this point must navigate how to exit this STUPID and UNTENABLE position Team Biden has put him in, without looking like Team Biden’s disastrous pull out of Afghanistan.
Trump was RIGHT.
Neither side wants peace, not Zelensky and not Putin.
What hogwash. There are no NATO troops in Ukraine. Furthermore, Russia's invasion started in 2014, not 2022. If Russia would withdraw from Ukraine there would be no war; there is no threat, and there has never been a threat, of Ukraine attacking Russia. Pushing the idea that this is a proxy war for NATO is just a smokescreen for justifying Russia's imperial ambitions.
AI can be pretty smart too. Here’s what one engine put together when I asked it the question about Putin’s true ambitions:
Putin has often referred to the collapse of the Soviet Union as “the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century.” This phrase encapsulates his belief that the disintegration of the USSR was a significant loss for Russia, not just politically but also culturally and historically. He perceives this event as a moment when Russia lost its status as a major power and influence over its former territories.
Putin has drawn parallels between his actions in Ukraine and those of historical figures like Peter the Great, suggesting that he is engaged in a process of “returning” territories that were once part of Russia or the Soviet Union. By denying Ukraine’s sovereignty, he positions himself as a leader who seeks to rectify what he sees as historical injustices stemming from the Soviet era.
For instance, he has stated that he aims to reclaim lands that he believes are rightfully Russian, framing these ambitions within a narrative of historical destiny. His comments suggest an intention not only to maintain influence over former Soviet republics, but also to potentially re-establish some form of political or economic union reminiscent of the USSR.
” I admit it’s a bit harder than just hating Putin and Russia.”
No it is not. Russia is a thug country and it is mugging Ukraine and will just try to mug someone else in the future.

After that little punk dissed Trump in the Oval Office the other day, I can see how much Putin must despise Z and wants to end him. The Ukraine people should take Z down and work a peace agreement with Putin without the rest of the world or Trump. It isn’t our war.
Trump appears to be more eager for peace than Putin is, so he may continue to offer “carrots” to Putin. He may believe that he and Putin can decide the fate of Ukraine between them, the way FDR and Stalin decided the fate of Poland in 1945. Just not sure how far he will be able to force Ukraine to accept the deal.

Who and why? What does Russia want from Ukraine? What is our interest in Ukraine? How come Zelensky sold military weapons sent to him to other countries? How come Zelensky said he hasn't got over half of the money promised to him?
If you can get past irrational hatred and ask yourself some questions you'll begin to see it's not a bully picking on a little kid. You'll see that Zelensky is being propped up and encouraged to keep fighting by the neocons that use to predominate in America and STILL predominate in Europe.
Europe wants war because they see primarily unexploited natural resources in Russia they want. However there is no way China sits still for it because then they're next. So WWIII.
Zelensky is a grifter and a puppet of the woke, leftist, globalist homo green coaltion. In other words the beast power.
