Somebody needs to ask that moron how many senators voted to ratify that “treaty” - no Senate approval, no treaty.

Framing the agreement as a treaty makes it seem like Trump is violating U.S. law by unilaterally withdrawing from it.

There are serious problems with the treaty power and especially the language of Article II specification, "two thirds of the Senators present." It doesn't even specify a quorum. We have had treaties ratified without a quorum on a voice vote. It is an abomination. Worse, the language in the Supremacy Clause supposedly constraining treaties to existing Constitutional limitations, is (to my mind deliberately) ambiguous because of the placement of commas. It needs an Amendment to fix these problems. We have had treaties empowering the government to exercise wildly beyond pre-existing Constitutional limitations. As of now, the Federill Grub-a-mint has agreed to abide by treaties upon the signature of ANY Federill ossifer, this despite the fact that the treaty empowering that supposed authority was never ratified.

To learn how all this works, see Patrick Henry "Ratified": The Treaty Power, Its Perils and Portents to learn how our government really works.

We haven’t ratified too many treaties recently

They see ‘treatly’, and think ‘teaty’.

> Even former President Barack Obama’s administration was adamant that the Paris Agreement was not a treaty

This is the point. Zero chose not to seek ratification because he knew it would fail, so he elected to live by it with MSM air cover. Trump45 exited, Brandon re-entered again without ratifying, and Trump47 now exits.

The only storm here is that the MSM likes to pretend that they define reality and truth is again smacking them in the face.

Leaves an open question though. Logistically how does a pact like this, or as Brandon tried to resurrect, an amendment like the ERA, get formally rejected? We (non-pretending) know what makes these permanently enacted, but the converse?
