Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass Said She Would Not Travel Internationally When Campaigning

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has taken criticism for being in Africa at the beginning of the destructive wildfires – something she had previously pledged to avoid.

As Breitbart News reported last week, Bass had been visiting Ghana in Africa at the time of the wildfires, despite having over 24 hours’ notice ahead of what experts predicted would be the worst windstorm to hit Los Angeles since 2011.

According to the New York Times, her travel to Africa may already have been in violation of something promised when campaigning.

When serving in Congress and on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Democrat Karen Bass routinely traveled abroad for U.S.-Africa relations, a part of her job that she previously told the New York Times that she would cut back on if elected Mayor of Los Angeles.

“I went to Africa every couple of months, all the time,” she said in 2021. “The idea of leaving that, especially the international work and the Africa work, I was like, ‘Mmm, I don’t think I want to do that.’”

“Not only would I of course live here, but I also would not travel internationally — the only places I would go would be D.C., Sacramento, San Francisco and New York, in relation to L.A,” she said.

She’ll claim her trip was at the behest of Joe Biden.

I find it quite reasonable that a Socialist would want to be in a Socialist country like Ghana.

How often has she been to Cuba? As in when Cuban leader Fidel Castro died, she declared his death was a great loss to all Cubans.

For black racists like Bass all of Africa is within her domestic domain.

“Foreign” means places where white people live.

Mayors do not usually travel to attend official acts like inaugurations of presidents.
That is a job of ambassadors, secretaries of state, and (vice) presidents.

Why would Americans ever GAS about what is going on in Ghana? Most of the Ghanan population lives in America.

No, Democrat voters are phenomenally stupid.
Ignorance you can fix, but stupidity you cannot.
All you do is Isolate yourself from them.
I do it here in the DEEP blue state of Hawaii.
The only thing I can’t get out of is property
taxes.
Thankfully someone shot the guy down that used to take pictures from his Cessna so they could figure out
how to tax you.
I think they quit that business.
Rural Hawaii is not to be messed with.

“She is still on the job?”

***********

With her liberal ‘bona fides’ she’ll probably be the next governor.

LA Times owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong says it was a mistake for his paper to endorse Karen Bass, now says competent people should be elected, not professional politicians.

While I’m glad people are waking up, this is not some profound concept.

“We endorsed Karen Bass. I think right now, that’s a mistake. And we admit that.”

“I think we were one of the few to say competence matters... the interesting thing is that maybe we should think about how we elect people on the basis of........ “Did they actually run a job? Did they actually make a payroll? Do they understand what it is?”

“Rather than having professional politicians whose only job is being ready to run for office.”
