God bless those girls! Anyone who has pet chickens knows what super-love gals they are. They so need their comfort cuddles. So full of country charm! "Chicken Math" is real.

My favorite chicken is named Kentucky Fried...............

When my wife and children wanted to raise chickens I *laid down the law* firmly, using my experienced fatherly authority based upon growing up on a cattle farm and learning one night that we were eating the steer I'd named, that under no circumstances would they give names to the chickens.

Instead, they gave the chickens "labels" not names: "Chicken Dinner", "Winner Winner", "Pot Pie", "Nugget", "Paprikash", "Fried", "Taco", "Yummy", etc.

The RIR are the smartest. Also the chickens hatched under their mothers clutch are far more intelligent than the chicks you buy from a farm supply chain.

I understand what Mel Gibson said. We had a storage unit broken into and cleaned out by thieves. It was a great relief not to have to worry anymore about the “stuff.”

My late son moved to a rural town in AZ a few yrs ago and decided to get some ducks. He named them Fiona, Gretchen, and Gregory Peck. Only Fiona remained a yr later so he got a few more. According to his fiancée, who cares for them now, they’re messy, noisy and useless aside from their eggs. It sounds like chickens would have been a better choice, lol.

Alas, all my older gear turned to ashes, and since then I've mostly accumulated new stuff. But I appreciate the offer! :-)
