“””All these people who are deep blue Democrats are now going to have to pull a permit to rebuild, and they’re going to get the 28 year old bitch from the Coastal Commission telling them to go fuck off and then they’re going to vote for Trump or whoever’s Trumpian next.”””

Angry Democrats joining MAGA could become a problem. Frankly, I would rather see these angry Democrats stew in their own juices.

This guy gives a long rant about the failures.

How will these folks vote next time? You can see the embers igniting mentally as they realize Democrats can’t run anything. But ruin everything.

Adam has several books out that are “LOL” funny. Give them a read - and the audio versions are even more fun if you enjoy his style. He was the funny one from the “Man Show” years ago and it’s stayed that way.

Is there any one article or someone on this thread who can explain why this is happening? It is due to lack of forest management and thinning trees, etc correct?

That district used to be red. Clo Hoover, a conservative Republican woman, was mayor of Santa Monica and B-1 Bob Dornan was its representative in Congress. The district still has pretty much the same boundaries, but now, it's represented by Ted Lieu, one of the bluest of Democrats.

That applies to much of government these days, and a lot of corporate America and media as well.

As much as I like Adam’s take, I believe he’s mistaken.

The Hollyweirdos will double down and become even more ‘blue’.
They will, in some warped, twisted logic that only they understand, will actually blame REPUBLICANS AND EVEN TRUMP for their miasma.

This has been seen over and over. They will not give up their precious socialism for love or money.

Some of them, like Paris Hilton, will just move and build elsewhere, but the ideology goes with them.

The ‘lucky ones’ who actually make it through the system with a new home will be entrenched until they die in a wheelchair with a blanket in an old actors home.

Remember, “The issue is never the issue. The issue is always The Revolution!”.................

There are many contributing factors, but the biggest is the Santa Anna winds that happen several times a year and are super dry. These aren’t all forests as we understand them. They are brush covered hillsides. And with decent rains the last couple year, combined with a dryer year this year, there is a lot of extra growth that is now dry. With 50-80mph winds and 5% or less humidity, even the greenest forest will burn. A scrub brush covered hillside just needs a simple spark from anywhere and up it goes.

But there is management that can help. Fire breaks. Palm tree cleanup (you see the ones with the dry fronds? Those are what are throwing the sparks everywhere).

Not much that can be done to stop this, though. I remember growing up near there in the ‘70s and the mountainsides would burn every few years during the Santa Annas.

60 years ago I worked for the US Forest Service during the summer months fighting wildfires in the western states.

The brush fires in the Los Angeles area were the most dangerous.

When more houses are built in the canyons and hillsides, then it becomes a disaster waiting to happen.

It's not so much trees, but brush and dry grass that's burning. Southern California is prone to brushfires because of its climate--a short rainy season, usually from November to March, followed by a long dry season. In the late summer, fall and winter, powerful east winds known locally as Santa Ana winds, generated by high pressure east of the mountains, can spread fires and sometimes start them by blowing down electric power lines.

After two wet years that generated a heavy growth of brush, we are now entering what will probably be a severe drought, as hardly any rain has fallen since last spring, and that makes the fire hazard especially acute.

Despite the perennial threat of brushfires , LA's mayor has slashed the fire department's budget and fire chief seems to be more concerned with "diversity" than with putting out fires.

Yes, the ‘ENVIRONMENTALISTS’ have taken full control of California from top to bottom.

They made it illegal to clear underbrush, or build firebreaks. They drained reservoirs and destroyed dams. They made it illegal to use water from creeks and streams for anything. The made the utility companies stop cutting and trimming trees off the rights of way.

They stopped everything that would have prevented these fires, all in the name of “PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT”!

WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!..............

In reality you will see them waive and/or expedite procedures for their favored class. And voters left out will still vote blue because of false convictions and an inability to question.

What really interests me is how much aid will Californians be given? Will they get the paltry $7-800 given to Maui victims or much more? After all, California has 52 seats in the House of Representatives.
