Too much sisemic instability along the Atlantic seafloor. The largest rift on the planet is in the atlantic basin. 20T is a stupid amount to waste on a precarious undertaking.

Millions of tourists every year,

A project this massive and costly won’t be built anytime soon. You're probably right, but I've learned never to underestimate Musk. It was said that upright landing of booster rockets couldn't be done. Musk did it.

You may need to visit China to see the previously “impossible” gargantuan bridges and tunnels they’ve built there lately.

I wonder who gets any gold or diamonds they find while digging the tunnel.
It will be an odd paragraph in the contract.

What type of tunnel or tube could possibly withstand the outlandishly tremendous water pressures at the depths of the ocean bed, that would have to be dealt with by this project?

Someone check my math.
I’m coming up with 3,800 MPH to pull that off.
Color me beyond skeptical.
