This is nuts. How would they compensate for tectonic plate movement?

It’s a hard pass for me. Plus, you can buy a lot of plane tickets for $20T.

Musk says:
In a social media post, he stated that he could do the entire project for 1000 times less than the estimated $20 trillion price tag using his own construction and infrastructure firm The Boring Company.

This is nuts. How would they compensate for tectonic plate movement? Snorkelers will be distributed to passengers in case of "incident"*
*there may possibly be fewer snorkelers than passengers to avoid a cluttered appearance in the cabin

Only if it’s a one-way tunnel. We don’t want those Muslims who’ve invaded England traveling in our direction. No way!

This sounds like a publicity stunt to call attention to the Boring Company’s engineering prowess. A project this massive and costly won’t be built anytime soon.

Read the whole thing...The only input Musk gave was that he could do it for less.
But he said zip about anything else...

Yep, there is this little thing called the Mid-Atlantic Rift.
https://www.britannica.com/place/Mid-Atlantic-Ridge
Thermal vents, upwelling magma, and the Atlantic Basin is widening at an estimated rate of 1 to 10 cm (0.5 to 4 inches) a year.
So, is this tunnel going to be stretchy?
