The vice president and 2024 Democratic presidential nominee told her advisors and close allies, “I am staying in the fight.”
After a devastating and decisive loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris is keeping her “options open” about her political future once she leaves office next year.
Harris has told her advisors and close allies, “I am staying in the fight,” Politico reports. What that fight looks like, however, remains up in the air.
According to Harris’ inner circle, the vice president is considering running for governor of California when Gov. Gavin Newsom’s term-limited time in office comes to an end in 2026. Harris is also not ruling out running for president again in 2028. However, insiders told the news outlet that it is unlikely Harris can do both.
While Harris, who left Washington, D.C. last week to vacation in Hawaii with family and advisors, has plenty of time to decide on her next move, those close to the vice president make clear she will remain a critical voice against Trump and his incoming administration.

She could run again in the 2028 primaries.
But she will have a lot of competition in those primaries.
History tells us that general election presidential losers seldom make a comeback.
Trump is really an historical outlier in that respect.
She will not just be handed the nomination in 2028, the way she was in 2024. If she runs again she will have to earn it.
Way worse than 2024 because she won't make it into the primaries again like in 2020. Leave everything aside about her policies and the regular helping of word salads. Harris always sounds exhausted and exasperated that she has to explain anything to anyone. Like she expects you should know what she wants and have it done already, but obviously you haven't, so now she has to take time out of her busy schedule to go over whatever it is with you and it is just so tiring for her to have to do that.
She should buy a clue and go away.

I don’t think so. Even through all the whining from leftists about the election, they’re still resoundingly hating on Trump and the talk about their candidate is “you’re all misogynists,” not really trumpeting the actual real qualifications of Que-Mala (that aren’t there).
In other words, 2028’s candidate doesn’t (likely won’t) have to be Que-Mala. They’re gonna find an articulate woman who can string a sentence together, ardently talk about issues with passion that isn’t fake, and have real (new) issues that resonate with more Americans that their current cornucopia of victim group weirdos.
They need a firebrand. If she’s black, all the better - she just needs to be real, have REAL experience - maybe someone like a black Nancy Mace who doesn’t carp on the “400 years” thing, but on bread and butter issues. I don’t see her right now, but she’s there somewhere. That’s the one we have to prepare to fight.
Four years is a long time in politics. Let’s just be happy not to hear her voice for three years.

I have a feeling the Biden’s felt so screwed that Jill purposely orchestrated putting in Harris as Joe’s replacement. Jill did this knowing full well a perfect idiot would be on display and not stand a chance. This way the Biden’s got back at Pelosi and obama.

The facts are that she blew through around $1.2 billion in 100 days, with a $20 million deficit at the end.
Wealthy donors throw their money around, but even they are very angry about the hole it disappeared into.
They won't make that mistake twice with her.
