... U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials on Saturday announced the largest seizure ever of counterfeit Gibson electric guitars.
Working with U.S. Homeland Security and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, agents recently seized more than 3,000 counterfeit guitars at the Port of Los Angeles, the nation’s largest seaport complex.
...
All three agencies will be on hand with Gibson officials Tuesday morning in Carson, just a few miles north of the Port of Los Angeles, to detail the seizure and — in advance of the holiday shopping season — to caution consumers about fraudulence products sold on e-commerce platforms and other sources.
Here is a quick primer video on distinguishing a fake Gibson — often made in China and referred to as “Chibsons”

Is there a Gretsch among them? 🙂
To be fair...
I do owe my life to Taylor
I was in a terrible car accident
For 6 months I languished I’m a coma
One day, a nurse to care for me and turned on the radio.
Taylor Swift came from the speaker singing “Shake it off!”
I got up and turned the radio off...
You wanna sell it? FR mail me...“
No way mi amigo sorry
Even the cheapest Squire today is a playable instrument.

As I recall the Studio was made lighter for working guitarists to be more comfortable putting in a day of recording. It certainly works that way for me. I used it for recording demos and was generally sitting with it.That weight on your leg can start to cramp. I also have a Carvin strat copy they called The Bolt. They’d send you the guitar in a kit, unfinished wood and all of the parts and you’d finish it however you wanted and put it all together. Mine when it was done looked strikingly like the Strat in your pic. When I plugged it in and hit a note on the E string I was absolutely stunned at how clear and sustained it was. Individual notes in a chord seemed to stand out together as well. A few years later someone or other reviewed The Bolt and had the same reaction, shock at how clear and sustained it sounded. You just don’t expect a bolt on neck, much less one you bolted on yourself to ever sound all that good.

Beautiful guitar!
I love my SJ200.
I’m with you, FRiend! :-)
I’m still playing out and open jams. Got home about 0200 this morning from a gig and stopping to see some friends at their gig. Have gigs lined up next 3 weeks. I still enjoy doing it and the few extra bucks(same money as 60 years ago) comes in handy. I’m only 77 so I got a few more years to play. 😂👍. Keep on pickin’ and have a nice Thanksgiving
Wnderful!
Mick Jagger is 83 and still rocking.
I’m 72, and am still making the same $ I did 40 years ago (It seems that Musicians are the only people who don’t get raises consistent with inflation.) LOL.
Keep on Rockin’!
Didn’t realize I was so well off back then in 1960’s dollars. LOL!
