It is an artifact of the counting process. The comparisons have been made before all the votes have been counted in 2024.
As more votes have been counted, it appears the total popular vote will be about the same as in 2020, or perhaps a bit more.
I wonder if there even was a champagne sales guy. The woman might have made that part up.
I say that because most sales people I know will not talk politics with customers unless they’re quite sure it will be a pleasant conversation. Unpleasant customer conversations are bad for business.
The extra 2020 votes came mostly from solid blue states that would have gone to Biden anyway. I have been forced to rethink the cheating hypothesis. Even Trump got extra 2020 votes in CA.
It’s been said that the Democrat Party is the party of angry women and weak men. It is also a reality that married women vote for conservatives. So if only white women voted majority Trump, I can extrapolate from that, that only the husbands of white women are satisfying their wives.
