We don’t do early voting in Alabama.
I am thinking of throwing together a spreadsheet for early voting numbers.
Originally, I was only going to concentrate on Florida, I might do all the swing states to see what trends if any show up.

Florida has probably the most secure voting in the US. We will have total results by 9:00 pm election day.
Texas - specifically Bexar County where I live - is seeing huge early voting numbers. The Colonel’s Wife and I were in line for 1:20 yesterday.
I think Pennsylvania is going to fool us again. I pray not. Trump NEEDS either Penn, WI OR MI and as long as he holds states he has now he wins.
2020 was D+1. For 2024 so far, it’s R+7. While the early vote could cannibalize election day voting, it’s a good start. It’s usually the stragglers who vote early.

No, it's not. It's the people who are extremely politically engaged who vote early.
The stragglers are the people Trump needs to turn out on Election Day.
I agree. No one in our country cannot get to a polling place or vote by absentee ballot, not mail in ballots, on one day? I guarantee if anyone said you did not get your EBT card restocked by calling in on a specific date, they would not get done on time, at least for those which are legitimate.
That was my position for a while—but I am changing my mind.
The reason is that the messed up voting system in some states—machines not working or other garbage-means that election day can become a mess.
If voters can come back another day when everything is working properly that is a good thing.
We have to deal with the world as it is—not as we would like it to be.

A couple of post up remarked the early voting is R+7. If that enthusiasm holds Trump will 380 EV’s, or more!
You have a point. Early voting is a barometer for who is in the lead and factors in as to how much cheating is required to flip the election.

... so my precious ballot can lay around for two weeks in some box, somewhere, maybe locked (or not), maybe supervised (or not), with a chain of custody (or not)?
