The property management firm managing several buildings in Aurora, Colorado, that have been taken over by members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, is speaking out. The company has taken to X to provide a full description of how the buildings were invaded and taken over by the illegal alien gangsters, how the tenants fled, how people were threatened and assaulted, and how the local government reacted. It all starts here.
Gangs have taken control of several of our properties in Aurora, Colorado.
In an attempt to discredit this fact for political purposes and avoid governmental accountability, some have spread false information about our situation. Let’s set the record straight...🧵 pic.twitter.com/Df9XMkwNtX— Cbz Management (@CbzManagement) October 11, 2024
The thread starts with a powerful affirmation of what we already knew, and what some in government and the legacy media have tried to downplay: Gangs have taken control of entire apartment buildings. The company took over these buildings in 2019 and immediately started renovations to the run-down properties.
We started managing these buildings when new owners acquired the Colorado properties in 2019. At the time, the properties were in poor condition, and our mission was to renovate them, thereby increasing their value. This was an ambitious project that would significantly benefit the people of Aurora while providing returns to the new owners.
We understood this project would take years to yield results and would be both time-consuming and costly, involving comprehensive upgrades to every unit and the overall structure. To manage the project effectively, given our New York-based operations, our representative moved to Colorado with his family.
We also undertook a complete renovation of nearly every unit in the now well-known building you’ve seen in the news. (The images shown depict our newly renovated apartments.)
Everything was progressing smoothly: property values were rising, and vacancy rates were dropping. It was a win-win for both the owners and the city of Aurora.
Then, the gangs arrived... pic.twitter.com/xnExrt46ZK— Cbz Management (@CbzManagement) October 11, 2024
So far, so good, right? This is what a responsible property management firm does. If a new property needs renovations, they are done; this raises the value of the property, attracts a better sort of tenant, and provides a more pleasant place to live. But that's not what happened in this case; not after illegal immigrant gang members started to focus their efforts on the property, and in time, to take over altogether.
After some time, we noticed a rise in crime and tenant complaints. The most alarming moment occurred when our local CBZ representative was attacked at the end of 2023.
He had gone to inspect a recently vacated three-bedroom apartment (a rare occurrence for such a large unit) only to find a group of men already inside. When he refused their $500 bribe to overlook the situation, they brutally attacked him. (This photo was taken shortly after he escaped, just before being admitted to the hospital. The video footage comes from one of our security cameras, capturing part of the assault.)

Look at those images. This wasn't just an attack, this was a brutal beating, delivered by gang members who had taken over a property illegally.
But it didn't stop there.
After the attack on our CBZ representative, he began getting threatening text messages. We also frequently found people illegally occupying newly vacated apartments during scheduled tours. This was initially attributed to an influx of migrants exploiting squatter laws. We even received a call from a tenant returning from vacation, only to find strangers living in his apartment. This legitimate tenant was forced to find a new home after police couldn’t help him. pic.twitter.com/OVMk5qhHgQ— Cbz Management (@CbzManagement) October 11, 2024
This raises the question of how they got this representative's phone number. If it was a company phone, his number may have been available on the management company's website. If it was a private number, that's another thing entirely. But in either case, this is the use of a telecom system to directly threaten a person, which makes the whole thing now a federal issue.
Next, it came to light, as we have already documented, that tenants and squatters were indeed paying rent - to the gang.
When confronted, many of these illegal tenants and squatters claimed they had already paid rent, which we soon realized was true—but not to us. They were paying rent to a different entity.
To address this entity (gangs) we contacted every city official we could think of for help with the problem. Unfortunately, none were willing to take meaningful action.Meanwhile, our CBZ representative continued receiving threatening messages, in which these criminals revealed his home address and his spouse’s name.
Finally, the APD, FBI and Homeland Security informed us that those sending the messages and controlling our buildings were part of the notorious Tren De Aragua gang from Venezuela. They also mentioned that our situation was just "a blip on the radar," as this gang is causing significant problems nationwide.
Two days after our FBI meeting, the gang confronted our on-site manager, asserting control over all three properties. They offered an ultimatum: share rental income 50/50 or lose the buildings permanently. They also threatened to harm him and his family.
For the safety of our management team and their families, we withdrew them from the properties and focused on seeking help from government agencies.

So the property management company, with faith in the local government that turned out to be in vain, started complaining. Local authorities picked up a few gang members, but the overall problems remains.

Once we fully understood what we—and our tenants—were facing, we expected a swift response, with the city offering meaningful resources and police protection—perhaps even from the National Guard—to help us regain control of our properties. That never happened. Instead, we were left helpless, watching as violence, bullets, and destruction overtook our buildings. Many of our legitimate tenants fled out of fear.
Despite the obvious crisis, several city officials refused to acknowledge the reality. Instead, they blamed us, citing "code violations" as the reason for shutting down our property—violations we couldn’t resolve for tenants who weren’t even ours. pic.twitter.com/2pqC2wCrx5— Cbz Management (@CbzManagement) October 11, 2024

This is intolerable. And the legacy media, we must note, have been downplaying it ever since.

As I've noted before, in my previous life I spent a lot of time teaching major corporations, many of whose names you would recognize, how to do root cause analysis. One of my hard and fast rules of root cause analysis is this: The root cause is always found at the point where some person or group of people make a decision. That doesn't mean the decision was bad at the time it was made; it may have seemed the right decision by rational standards with the information available at the time, and problems developed later. But in this case, the decision was made in January 2021, when Joe Biden signed executive orders largely undoing Donald Trump's border policies and effectively throwing the border open. There was illegal immigration before that, but the Harris/Biden administration's policies have allowed it to explode.
This mess in Aurora, Colorado, is just one of the outcomes of that catastrophically bad decision. And the root cause can be laid squarely at the feet of Joe Biden and Kamala "Border Czar" Harris.
Unfortunately for this company their property manager wasn’t trans....if they were Biden’s admin would have taken care of this issue very fast.

My wife reports that in Alabama they are pulling a vacuum on purchases of new GMC Denali pick-ups. There is a group of them parked at the latest apartments they are occupying there. Lots of money for them coming from somewhere.
I can think of only 2 responses.
Retreating and walking away and take the financial hit.
Or
Going full on Equalizer. Not stopping until the last vermin is exterminated.
I was thinking Academi, the successor name for Blackwater, may have couple dozen operators with Venezuela experience who could lend expertise in this matter. Probably cost less than losing the entire investment.
Just a tiny handful of problems 🤬
Ah, but per Martha Raddatz of ABC News, violent gangs only took over a “handful” of properties - so that makes it an insignificant, non-event...and it is actually a scandal that Trump/Vance would bring it up.
Look at how ABC News titled the video where Vance called out Raddatz for the absurdity of her comments:

The Truth is not in ABC.
The entire nation, if we permit another steal.
btt
Still waiting for her to let bus know what the top number is for “takeovers” allowable. 😵
No difference between govt and a cartel.
