That is brutal, what the hell is FEMA doing?
“That is brutal, what the hell is FEMA doing?”
Bottled water and food has been bought by retailers long in advance.
Walmart has to ensure it has product coming in. And it has product coming in. It has to sell it. One may have to drive to a suburb of Charlotte or Knoxville to get it. Or ask somebody to drive you to an open Walmart.
For FEMA to get bottled water, it has to contract for it. Some bottler has to arrange to get additional plastic for bottles, get people to work more hours and pay overtime.
Once the production is planned, FEMA has to get timely trucking contracts to deliver water to the many places where it is desired.
Almost all rural homes have wells. Many rural folks have generators. Find a neighbor who has a rural relative with a well and generator and have the neighbor fill your containers as well as theirs.
Making sure illegals are taken care of, not some fly over maga deplorables
Imagine first thing FEMA will do is make sure planned parenthood has a trailer on site, ya know for women’s “healthcare”
The road to Chimney Rock is gone - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPBtrJHADGE
Young guy walks most of the road or where it once was. Then the video jumps back in time to when he’s surveying his house damage and along with neighbors, starts cutting downed trees across his smaller road.
Hiking or helicopter is the only way in/out of Chimney Rock now. Helicopters drop cases of bottled water and probably have a regular route now.
Video did show military helicopters but it looks like private helos making the drops. Many .mil helos are too big to drop down into valleys.
When the video’s done, many similar will pop up.
Not sure but a lot of local stores here in mid-SC are gathering supplies to take to NC. My daughter’s school found someone with relatives in the hard hit areas who has a large SUV he could pack with supplies. When I got to her school yesterday with our contribution he had already packed most of the back. He knew people who were participating in the Mule-train so he was confident what he was taking would get to people.
