So you support candidates who stick their finger in the air to see which direction the wind is blowing?

DJT is either pandering to the Demon party or is actually not pro life at all.

I’m beginning to wonder if Trump has any core values at all.

Where else is he willing to sell out his core supporters?

He will lose the presidency if he pushes pro life because half this country wants abortion. Men and women.

He’s not sticking his finger in the wind. He’s negating the issue.

Why is anyone asking him this question? Why do tgey care how he’ll vote?

What will he do as president to pro life people? He’s already the only president to go to tge March for life.

Trump is trying to get elected and he has to appeal to white suburban women.

I’m hoping Trump is lying his ass off.

Spouting this pro abort BS just to get the soccer moms and childless cat ladies to ease off the abortion issue.

I’m disappointed in his comments as well.

However from a moral standpoint, a more dispassionate approach is needed.

If both major parties are anti-life and, if no viable third party with a chance of winning is on the ballot with a pro-life message, the obligation to vote remains for citizens of faith.

The moral calculus then involves selecting the candidate that is more pro-life than the other and considering what other political issues are in play that could potentially effect the pro-life cause.

Returning the issue of abortion to the states is not a perfect solution. But it is much better than a nation wide federal mandate for all abortions at any time.

I don’t like this anymore than you do but even though we disagree with what Trump is saying here, the choice seems obvious, even if unpalatable.

You're correct.

When it came down to appointing Supreme Court justices who would rid us of Roe v Wade after 50 years, Trump failed us horribly.

Oh, wait...

Donald Trump has never been pro-life.

Trump made a deal with social conservatives in 2016. "Vote for me and I will put judges on the Supreme Court who will repeal Roe v. Wade."

They did and he did. He owes them nothing more.

He favors abortion now. It’s clear. For perceived political advantage. The pro-life stance was also for perceived political advantage.
