“...ensuring Roe V. Wade was repealed...”
Trump did nothing specifically to that end. He did the minimum we expect from all R execs in nominating hopefully decent justices - as opportunity occurs.
It was the selfish and arrogant Ruth Buzzy Ginsburg who provided the rare opportunity for an R exec to replace a D justice.
Combined with the Gamera level heroic action of The Turtle after the deaths of Scalia and Buzzy. First blocking an R -to- D flip under Obama. Then accomplishing the D -to- R flip under Trump.
And it was the Bush justices leading the intellectual charge and writing the opinion.
Trump did nothing proactively great for Life there. I am grateful, though, he at least did nothing decidedly anti-Life then as he has been doing since.
Probably not many, but they might stay home. That would be a problem.
Sorry for wasting your time.
“We are going to be, under the Trump administration, we are going to be paying for that treatment,” Trump said in the NBC interview. “We’re going to be mandating that the insurance company pay.”
Part of small government, draining the Swamp?
Where, in the Constitution, is the part about FedGov paying for medical services, or mandating how businesses operate?
Trump screwed the pooch on this one, bigtime. Just STFU.
That’s the approach they should take, but in the meantime, the approach they are taking - abortion tolerant to actively pro-abortion - is a disaster.
I think Trump just lost himself a lot of votes here in Florida with his support for the deceptive Amendment 4. It’s possible that he didn’t understand it…he’s not a close reader, it seems - but even if he didn’t, he should know that it is heavily opposed by many voters in Florida and just watch his mouth accordingly.
But he never does. We all knew that Trump is pro-abortion and is terrified of the pro-abortion female voters, but they weren’t going to vote for him anyway. The anti-abortion voters were going to vote for him, but he’s making it very hard.
I don’t think so either, but I did hear his say something to the effect that he thinks it reasonable to support the ban after three months. Kind of a middle position between a total ban and abortion up to and including live birth.
No surprise there, I bet you do “believe” them.
At this point only a retard would believe anything that was “voted on” in this country.
I don’t think you’re a retard.
I believe it should be left up to the states, because the Fed is far easier to corrupt. However, Trump isn’t a pro-life Christian... which I am. In fact, Trump isn’t a conservative. He describes himself as a moderate, but in my mind, he’d be a liberal in the Reagan era, which I think he was.
I will still vote against Kamala.
This system we have worked out that narrows things down to two choices and the better of 2 evils has always sickened me. The parliamentary system works out to just as bad, but there is the opportunity to cast a potentially meaningful vote for other parties.
RFK’s smaller party endorsing Pres Trump with a “promise” of some governmental position, seems a direction this country should go. A pro-life party with a promise to put the minority party candidate in charge of HHS, for example, if they endorse a more leading candidate would be a better way to select leaders, in my opinion.
Trump has always been rape, incest, and life of the mother in terms of abortion. I used to be there, but the fact is that the union of sperm and egg produces a new dynamic explosion of life. Some part of that becomes the placenta, and another part of it the baby, if it implants, but it’s impossible to ignore the part that is the human being.
I understand after a rape the woman wanting to rid herself of that man’s presence within her. I applaud those women who are consistent even in a rape situation, but I’ll not cast stones at those who can’t handle that.
I’m not sympathetic to incest abortions, unless they also are a forcible rape. If it was consensual, then it was consensual.
Life of the mother may be rare, but having had family members get pumped full of cancer drugs and radiation, I can see how that might kill a baby... or a mother if not treated. We’re told that is rare, and I believe that.
Most life of mother situations aren’t really so, and those that are psychological issues aren’t legitimate, in my opinion.
My goal would be to deliver rather than abort. There’s no real reason NOT to deliver a viable baby rather than rip it apart. There are plenty of adoptive parents awaiting a call. Let them adopt while still in utero, then when viability is reached, perform the delivery rather than an abortion.
This could conceivably push viability dates back into earlier and earlier weeks of pregnancy.
Actually, this could win him a significant number of votes on the margin - the Kamala ads are claiming he will completely ban abortions - which is a lie.
Simply denying he will ban it won’t have much effect, but announcing he is voting AGAINST a ban - now that might make an impression.
It has certainly made an impression here on FR!
I am so successful financially because I never look for purity. Overall more positive than negative is my main criteria. Capital gains tax on UNrealised gains is a bsolute deal breaker. Nothing on Trump’s agenda is a deal breaker for me. Ad the fiercest pro-life person by actual actions, if Trump wants to extend 6 weeks abortion limit, I can accept that.
My post wasn’t about you, but I’m glad you make a lot of money.
TrumpVance better get on culture of life train.
It is the only winn̈ng pro life theory.
