The Stock Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act requires U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives to publicly file and disclose any financial transaction within 45 days of its occurrence. We download those disclosures, parse them for stock trades, fetch the stock's performance in the time following the transaction, and calculate each politician's cumulative return from their trades.

Look up Nancy Pelosi, especially her trades in Nvidia, I know a lot of people made huge returns on this stock, she rode the stock to incredible returns,
She started buying the stock in 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic, her returns on the stock she bought at different times had been in the 500-800% range.
Most of the trades were in the 1-5 million dollar range, so she wasn’t buying a small number of shares.
I saw that. I looked at a few and left. Others will deep dive it and find nuggets.
If you look at the could Nvidia trades she made that lost money, it was probably shares she bought at a much lower prices and sold less than their peak.
For example, she bought a stock a $100/share, the price went to $1000/share and she bought blocks of stock at different prices between the two prices, when she sold, she sold shares she bought at $100 instead of shares she bought at $1000 and sold at $900.
Many start out with congressional salaries and very little else, but through frugality and market insight end up near billionaires in middle age.
AND, they are also so brilliant at public policy AND likeable that they are perennially reelected to office.
We should be grateful that these people are ruling over us.
