I wanted to get advice from my fellow FReepers on this subject about Israel and Iran.

I am going to get personal for a moment. Hopefully you can calm my fears.

My anxiety levels have been up and down and up down over what is happening in Israel. I want to understand what could happen and what is not going to happen.

Silly I know but my mind keeps saying massive destruction for both countries and It is going to end badly.

Any advice? Its just too much.

If you have family or property in the way, get them out of the way. Otherwise, say your prayers for God to handle things well beyond our control. Getting anxious over things which are far beyond your control is a good way to have a stroke for no reason.

I truly hope not. I would not expect a President Kamala to do jack squat if Iran did something apocalyptic to Israel. At best, she would mouth platitudes in public. And probably celebrate with her Progressive buds in private.

Iran does not respond with rational logic. They believe that they must start WWIII for their messiah to return.

Start by reading the bible, Ezekiel 38-39. Everything is explained. It really helped me a lot to reduce my stress levels.

This site really explains what everything means and backs it up with links to search.

I wish I could reassure you, but I too have misgivings about the whole situation.

At this point I can only believe God will protect Israel.

I have been saying since 1979 that we needed to destroy that fanatical religious regime in Iran. We never should have allowed the Shah to fall.

Jimmy Carter may end up with more blood on his hands than any president in history.

But yet, why was a very important leader of Hamas living in Iran killed by a bomb? If Iran really did heavily support Hamas, that act would have never happened. I think there are elements in the Iranian government that want Hamas, a Sunni Muslim organization, gone for various sundry reasons.

If it starts in earnest, I believe it will be quite violent. I think the threat is a bit exaggerated in our minds by the influence of the news media. But it is definitely not zero.

Iran wanted to react to Israel’s provocation, taking out the Hamas dude in Teheran. But Iran knows damn well they will lose perhaps 2/3rds their oil production and possibly their entire navy if Israel catches them with their pants down. For one guy, this is worth it?

I continue to believe that Iran has performed this calculation and has decided it ain’t worth it.

Don't worry about things you cannot control.

It doesn't help, and nothing will come of it.

God is in control. I'm just watching from the sidelines.

Keep this in mind: at some point, it’s going to get really, really ugly over there. Might be now, might be 10 years from now, might be 200 years from now. We don’t know. But the cool thing is, after it gets really, really ugly, things get really really amazing for those that believe. Beyond even our wildest imagination. It will get ugly, but the good guys win in the end. Take comfort in that.

As others have alluded, start with faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel who had promised that “all Israel will be saved” (Rom. 11:26). Only God in Christ can give you true peace. “In the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”, said Jesus (John 16:33).

And if he has overcome the world then we by faith in Him also can overcome the world. But we have to turn away from trusting in and taking comfort from the world, the flesh, and the devil and turn to Jesus for our comfort, peace, and the truth.

Having said that, Ez. 38-39 will be an attack on Israel that will be miraculously turned back. I believe this will be the beginning of the 7-year tribulation. The church will have been taken to Heaven and “Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7) will have begun.

So it is during the 7-year tribulation AKA Daniel’s 70th Week, that Israel will be saved (Revelation Chapter 7) but also endure persecution and death. Only a remnant will survive death in those days (Rom. 9:27).

To the ayatollahs they are merely collateral damage.
