The Democratic party started and supported the KKK.
And no Blacks, Catholics, Jews, immigrants or Republicans were allowed to be members.

Truth is , the KKK lynched Republicans back in the good old days. In fact, more white anti segregation Republicans were lynched by the KKK than black people in many states where the KKK was active. Literally - if you don't believe me , check it out.
