Change in position, posture, angle of the gun can and will affect the trajectory of spent casings.
I would guess those 5 are from the first barrage, and he tried changing position to get a better shot for the remainder.

BTW, take a good look at former Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle's performance before Congress on Monday. Did she seem like a woman on a mission?
