Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) questions Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle in a House Oversight hearing Monday on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a July 13 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Representative Waltz points out “the dog that didn’t bark.” WATCH:
♦ Where are the official 10:00am press briefing updates every day on the investigation?
♦ Where are the official press conferences from the Secret Service, FBI and law enforcement answering questions and providing information from the prior days investigative results?
♦ Where are the organized and official updates to let the American people know what has been found out about the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump?
The absence of official press briefings has been the dog that didn’t bark.
Instead, the Secret Service, FBI and Law Enforcement have been selectively leaking details, testing what would be and would not be accepted, and we have only seen controlled snippets of information.
Much of the information within those leaks has been lies, sometimes absurd in their construct, pushed through a generally incurious media.
Smart people have noted the absence of the official public information process indicates something very sketchy in the background. [ie. the dog that didn’t bark]
The attempted assassination of President Trump is a big deal; perhaps one of the biggest events in recent history. There is massive public interest.
If ordinary procedures and protocols were being followed, we would have official daily updates at scheduled press conferences, and the media would be able to present questions based on presented information. The absence of these press briefings tells us something that is not good.
The only reason to avoid sharing fact-based information with the public, is because rampant conspiracy theory is part of the intention.
Carry on!

One wonders if, based on her behavior, Cheatle fears that she may be charged in a conspiracy to murder Trump.
Her demeanor is very odd, and so much of this doesn’t pass a simple smell test…
“Her demeanor is very odd” - I agree. She did absolutely terrible under all that fire today.
Not to mention involvement in an actual murder — that of Corey Compertore.
Looks like most of the members left.
Sherlock Holmes
I didn’t know, so I looked it up. What a great expression. That one might be getting some more use in the days ahead.
The only logical explanation is that our government (executive, FBI, CIA etc.) wanted a crazy left wing nut case to kill Trump. That is why security was poor to the extreme and beyond incompetence but I suspect approval of this lax security. Do I suspect active involvement in an assassination plot? Absolutely not. If it was active involvement President Trump would have been killed. If it was just incompetence I can not understand the total depth of the incompetence.
I suspect the shooter missed due to three reasons.
1. He was not competent but had practice at the range. He was probably competent as that was an easy shot.
2. Different weight bullets and powder charge will give a different impact points. If sighted in with one the second is different.
3. He was so damn nervous and adrenalin pumped his aim was off and fortunately Trump turned his head. Even if Trump had not turned his head and he was accurate in his shot, it would have killed Trump. A turn of the head and a not accurate shot saved his life.
Another thing that puzzles me is why did he climb on that roof to take the shot. This kid was of high IQ and surveilled the area. He picked the ideal spot to shoot. His IQ would have told him that area would be guarded but he picked it anyway. He picked it and it was not secured nor surveilled. Drones are cheap. A few drones operating in sequence could have seen all threats with ease. There were no drones!!! I hope this is all due to massive incompetence of the Secret Service, FBI etc. If not we have an even bigger problem.
I might just put some Sherlock Holmes on my reading list.
of course there is.
Itwas tried and clearly failed on a massively popular presidential candidate, live on TV.
Very cogent analysis. Thanks.

How many people know the origin of “the dog that didn’t bark”? Probably not many these days.
“Detective: Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?
Sherlock Holmes: To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time.
Detective: The dog did nothing in the night-time.
Sherlock Holmes: That was the curious incident.’
