A 5.56 round would easily defeat soft body armor at less than 200 yards.
As more details are coming out, I think it's inexcusable that two supposedly professional snipers did not neutralize the shooter before he could get a shot off.
You’re assuming he took the time to aim, the fact the snipers jumped would imply he did some variation of point shooting. Popped up from behind roof line and took a rough aim hoping something would make contact with Trump. If he took time to aim, he would have been dead before he fired
Perp was behind the gabled roofline (ridge) until the last moment. I don’t think the snipers “above” Trump saw the perp more than a second or so (and not in their scopes - watch the closer sniper look up from his scope) B4 the assassin fired.
The 5 shot volley almost certainly came from nearer the building the perp was on — in the vid taken there, those 5 shots were much louder than the shooter’s shots.
It's much more likely that he was coached because it is not a secret that President Trump wears a bullet proof vest at his rallies.
It sure seems the snipers were zeroed in on the shooter but then they were like oh well and relaxed right when the shots came. Surprised they didn’t order a Starbucks. What is with the SS?
Plenty of soft armor these days defeats 5.56. really, nowadays, only the cheap, low-end ones won’t.
