Hunter wants his dad to remain as president, so he can get a pardon, and also to keep the influence peddling scheme going.
I get the impression Hunter doesn’t have a real job or career. He’s been a parasite on his dad’s political career all these years. And having reached the political pinnacle in the White House, Hunter has a vested interest in his dad’s reelection campaign.
He is Jill’s spy to prevent anyone from suggesting to him that he drop out. They are going to monitor him every second of every day.

Hunter allegedly texted his dad in 2019 that he would never have a chance at redemption for his drugging, whoring, tax dodges, gun charges, influence peddling, money laundering, China deals, unless Biden jumped into the 2020 Presidential race.
Hunter’s now facing a trial on tax evasion and a potential long prison sentence after being found guilty on all 2018 gun charges, could be using leverage for a presidential pardon down the road.
