There is a pattern to many of the UFO crashes—both location and time.
Many were in the 1940s-1950s period and were in the general area near military bases where advanced radar and microwave technology was under development.
It may have (probably accidentally) disrupted their propulsion system in some way.
Just because it is alien does not make it immune to the laws of physics.
The best source on UFO crashes—dozens of military witnesses explaining the details of their crash retrieval activities is this one:

There is an actual government manual on this stuff btw—date is 1954:

DEI destroys every species it infects. We got these amazing ships but we let some purple haired sexually confused person pilot it.
The mission was doomed when their home planet chose Boeing to manufacture their interplanetary space craft.
Indeed. Never ceases to amaze me how these supposedly advanced beings can create this fantastic science and technology and as soon as they get here, BAM!, they crash.
“This alien race is quite advanced and impressive, but they need to find some better pilots.”
Were their names Wong Wei, Wei Tu Lo, and Sum Ting Wong?
This alien race is quite advanced and impressive, but they need to find some better pilots.
Or stop getting their saucers from low-bid vendors.
