On Wednesday, Illinois Republican Party Chairman Don Tracy submitted his resignation as party chairman effective July 19th – blaming the rise of the powerful “grassroots,” party infighting and the recent removal of state central committee member Mark Shaw as vice chairman of the party without “due process” as the embattled leader of the IL GOP presided over widespread and massive losses during his brief tenure as chairman.
Since November of 2022, this publication has published dozens of articles critical of Tracy and calling on him to resign. And last June, 30 organizations representing over 80,000 conservative grassroots activists from across the state, signed an open letter and shared exclusively with this publication, calling on the Illinois Republican State Central Committee to remove Don Tracy as chairman of the state party in a motion of “No Confidence.” In the letter, the grassroots wrote,

State Democrrats mourn his passing.
They are a branch of the Illinois Democrats.
The land of Lincoln and Reagan, is bereft of conservative representation, having played itself out with Bob Michel, followed by Dennis Hastert, as examples.
When you leave on the high note of a House Speaker diddling young boys, you get a sense of what the Illinois GOP strives to be.
Another worthless GOPe stooge is out. Maybe him and Ratburger can rent a boat and have some quality time together
Too bad NYS chair Ed Cox hasn’t resigned. Talk about a string of losses.
And to underscore his uselessness, he’s not resigning for another month, which just so happens to be one day after the GOP convention. Couldn’t let the new person get the benefit of whatever it is that a state chairman gets at a national convention, gotta get that one last junket and all the steak dinners, lobbyist swag bags, and probably an envelope or two of cash in before turning out the lights.
Scum.
Step one, start taking over the precincts.
During the reign of Illinois Governor James R. Thompson, who served from 1977-1991, the establishment Republicans gladly rode on the coattails of President Ronald W. Reagan while refusing to accept the conservatism of the Reagan Revolution. Thompson preferred to promote moderates and leftist Republicans. He also engaged in all types of deals with the Democrats in the name of bipartisanship. Every deal benefited the Democrats and weakened the Republicans.
It is going to take a major sea change to restore the GOP in Illinois after decades of neglect.
Good riddance to another RINO.
Since its impossible for Trump to win in IL, the best thing MAGA there can do is vote for RFK, Jr. in hopes of denying those Electoral Votes to Biden.
