There is bad blood between MTG and Good because he kicked her out of the Freedom Caucus over her backing McCarthy in the recent speakership fight. Bannon and many MAGA, on the other hand, feel that McGuire's race is part of the McCarthy “revenge tour” and that McGuire cannot be trusted.
Total disclosure: I live in Va; but not in Bob Good's District. I consider myself ultra-MAGA and would have voted for Good if I was in his district. I think this was a tactical mistake by the Trump team that will only serve to split Republicans in VA at the very time we need to coalesce.
I think you left out that Good backed DeSantis because Trump was in trouble with “the law”. So he tried to knock off McCarthy and Trump.
I also blame Chris LaCivita who was John's campaign manager for his failed run in the 7th CD. John is always running and is a terrible legislator. Bob has done a great job in the House.
