California's state government would love to print its own currency to pay for everything.

It will turn the state into Zimbabwe, but that's long-term thinking.

The Constitution only allows for states to issue gold and silver currency.

Why was this even in court in the first place?

“California’s state government would love to print its own currency”

It has to be backed by gold or silver, presumably real gold and silver in storage somewhere.

At the rate California spends money, that’s not long term, that’s VERY short term.

They have to be gold & silver backed if the story is correct.
