Most bear cubs are killed and eaten by mature male bears.

If they had used a .22 on a full grown black bear, then the bear poop would have smelled of pepper and had little bells in it.

He returned to his living room, where, Tira says, the man shot the bear twice in the house.

Ouch ... that had to hurt, getting shot right in the house, twice.

“A majority of young bears who do not reach adulthood are killed by mature male bears.”

Bear on Bear Crime? Surprised this was even reported! ;)

We use .22 Stingers for raccoon. They work great.

Has the homeowner been thrown in prison, yet? This IS California, is it not? ;)

...and if they’d used a .458 WinMag on a full grown brown bear, the bear poop would have smelt of pepper and had little bells in it...

Twice in the house, shot placement is everything.

The black bear can only be brought down by 125mm smoothbore firing fin-stabilized discarding sabot.

One only has to discourage the bear from eating one.

World record grizzly was killed by Bella Twin, with a single shot .22 LR.

Don't know if it's still the record, but it was over 1,000 lbs.

What about black bears that are in lightly-armored vehicles?

What then?

Something just occurred to me.

Why are we killing BLACK bears?

That's racist.

Kill WHITE bears.

So if you’re using a .22 to shoot a bear, aim at his house. It might not kill him, but it will change his plans.
