Republican lawmakers in Louisiana passed a new bill this week granting powers to judges to order surgical castration of pedophiles found guilty of child sex crimes, including rape, incest, and molestation.
The state became the third behind Florida and Texas to allow the chemical castration of pedophiles in certain circumstances.

[Surgical castration? Good idea, but would probably fall under the heading of cruel and unusual punishment.]
Should give deez nutz a whole new meaning.
The sickness comes from within the brain, not from within particular organs of the body. Perhaps the right catagory of lobotomy would do the trick, to make that prisoner no longer a danger, but then, the govt. would be stuck with a very costly, fully disabled individual, who must be maintained for decades to come.
About time.
The state of Louisiana is being contradictory
They won’t pay for castrating and transitioning sexual deviants who want their junk removed, but WILL pay for castrating and transitioning sexual deviants who do not want their junk removed.
The state should not be in the gender-business. Only in the hanging business.
That won’t stop the crimes.
Their mind is the problem, not their ability. They can still molest and abuse without equipment.
The only solution for those who engage in this kind of behavior to guarantee it to stop, is the death penalty.
Castrate them under the jaw and above the shoulders.
Do they get out of jail if they get castrated or are they still locked up? They don’t need their parts to inflict injury on their victims
Too good for these creatures. They should be tortured and then executed. The incidents will plummet.
This is going to run afoul of “cruel and unusual”...
Better to just execute them. Pedophile recidivism is one of the worst evils we allow to perpetuate.

I don’t know this would hold up in courts
“Bailiff....whack his pee pee!”
Exactly. It’s not as though castration removes depraved thoughts.
You’re right.
Scotus on its own, without congressional assignment, incorporated the Bill of Rights to stand against the states.
Back in the 1970s, on a trip to Jamaica, we saw local headlines stating that a bill had been intro’d in the local gov’t that convicted sexual offenders would be surgically neutered. Never did know it had become law.
Charles Martel was not wrong.
I say do the same with rapists.
