Survived the Covid only to fail in the ensuing recession. Let’s Go Brandon!
Nice restaurant in the photo. I asked GeoSpy AI v0.1.6 to find the location and it tells me:
Country: India
Explanation: This photo was possibly taken in India because of the following reasons:
- The architecture of the building is similar to that of many buildings in India.
- The landscape is mountainous, which is similar to many parts of India.
- The vegetation is lush and green, which is similar to many parts of India.
Coordinates: 33.95° N, 75.57° E
A month or so ago, I went to my nearest ‘big city’ (Which in a more populous region would be considered a small city) for the first time in over a year.
Went through all the main business areas, and noticed that at least half the restaurants (including fast food places) were closed and in various stages of abandoned decrepitude. And most of the others looked like they were barely hanging on.... and this was around ‘lunch time’
The only place that seemed to be doing a booming business was the lunch counter in Sams Club... that had a line about 40 people long.
Hard times are already here, and it sucks.
Retired on a fixed income, no extras for us.
This article is spot on.

McDonald’s new Dollar Menu means massive price cuts for customers

McDonald’s much-anticipated new 2017 value menu means massive prices cuts for customers, a roughly 15% price reduction across the chain’s the full menu.
According to West, some items are already being sold at similar prices, leading up to the launch of the new value menu. Happy Meals for kids — are going to have their prices slashed by up to 25%.
The $1 items include menu offerings such as the Sausage Burrito, McChicken, and Cheeseburger. Items including the 2-piece Buttermilk Crispy Tenders, Bacon McDouble, and McCafé beverages will be sold for $2, and Happy Meals and Triple Cheeseburgers will cost $3.
While the McPick 2 has helped drive sales over the past year, a new national Dollar Menu is a major move to win over customers looking for value.
The company is throwing a huge amount of weight behind the effort, increasing its already massive national advertising budget by 20% starting in 2018.
Welcome to Brandon’s catering business.
What does all the liberal wait staff have to say about this?
They voted for it.
Are the cotton candy brained 420 friendlies happy now?
Also, I’d like to hear from the bearded omega males driving smart cars.

No one of wants to deal with surly waiters who don’t say, “Thank You.”
Build.Back.Better. Right Joey? Oh, that’s right, him and his mop head press secretary have said his big plan is just about to take hold...of making everything better. Yeah, okay.
I live in a fairly affluent area in No CA and I’d suspect most people are rather price insensitive if they really want to eat out.
But I am. What were formerly overpriced “gourmet” burgers at $12 are now $18 and I just can’t do it. I’ll pay double what the raw materials are worth if I like the joint, but not triple.
I eat breakfast at a local restaurant once a month.
I recently looked at the online menu. Apparently they haven’t updated it since covid.
The price on the menu: $9.00
The price I paid this morning: $18.00
I would bet the “photo” is an AI creation. There are some weird “mistakes”, such as the different styles of the chair backs, in particular the nearest one has an “x” that doesn’t meet the uprights. Mild AI hallucinations.
Basic three eggs, toast, bacon, coffee and a glass of milk is now $23 in our town on the San Fran Peninsula. Add a 15% tip for the owner and it’s $28.
What used to be a nice breakfast a couple times a week with the locals is now a couple times a month.
People can get reasonably priced meals at diners. $5 breakfasts, $7 lunches.
I also immediately thought "That river will flood every spring and wipe out that restaurant on the flood plain. That arid location probably gets huge gully-washers that raise the water level 15 feet in minutes. It's a horrible place for a restaurant."
I’m not even sure what a “diner” is — we don’t use that term here — but at ordinary non-fancy independent restaurants $12 breakfasts and $19 lunches would be typical.
Heaven forbid that people should start cooking from scratch and cutting out processed crap.
