I don’t believe that he ‘debates’ better than any given opponent. He browbeats and bullies very well. That’s because the moderators and debate host entities have always been on his side.
He’s gotten away with it in the past because a large part of his voting bloc are mouth breather northerners who like his arrogant air of superiority. That’s because they think they themselves are that. Arrogant, ostentatious and unthinking on an intellectual level, IMO.
The big difference now is that there is no good economy to back him up, nor is there any good news on the ‘migrants in my own back yard’ area. So I don’t see how pretending there is some underlying mental capacity excuse on his part does any good overall. The only thing I believe that accounts for his mental capacity variance is med-tuning. He takes too many vacations away from the WH and this is where I think the mental med-tuning happens.

I’m impervious to superior presentation, but people who otherwise prefer Trump to Biden have said Trump is a lousy debater. Debates are essentially a duel between rival sales pitches. Biden might be selling hemlock, but he sells it better.
