“Trump should demand that the RNC move up its convention by a week to get around Merchan’s sentencing date.
And then hold the nomination virtually like Biden and screw Milwaukee. “

Interesting thought. Problem is that Biden is doing it to qualify to be on the Ohio ballot and Trump would be doing it to thwart RNC traitors’ attempts to nominate Haley instead if Trump is soon suppose to surrender to custody after that date.

These same traitors, because they are traitors plotting against Trump, aren’t going to go for this moving up of the nomination date. And if there aren’t enough traitors in the RNC to pull off nasty business they aren’t going to be able to do it period, before or after July 11, so Trump may as well thumb his nose at the D’s by having a normal convention.

Moreover, securing the nomination earlier does nothing to stop D states from getting Trump off the ballot due to being a felon, not that it matters in many because he wouldn’t win them anyway, but it could matter in a place like Nevada that he has a chance at this time around.

Here’s my radical idea:

Who should Trump pick as his VP running mate and announce as such at least a week before July 11 who would scare the sh*t out of the DNC/Deep State? This person, Trump should make clear, as the choice of the person, Trump, who won the most delegates is the only other person Trump as delegate leader would accept be nominated instead of him.

This person could immediately put forth his own VP running mate, a person just as scary to the DNC/Deep State.

Both of the two could agree that they regard Trump as the rightful nominee/candidate and that the one standing in as the R presidential nominee will step aside for Trump to resume his place once the dust clears/Supreme Court weighs in.

I’m thinking Ben Carson should be one of these two, probably at the top of the ticket, because he is so likable and saintlike and his stepping aside seems in character for him.

Ben’s VP pick, who should of course be someone Trump is really happy with, should be a bit of a pitbull type. I’m thinking that Missouri AG.

Force the DNC/Deep State to go after Trump’s two chosen men.
(Men—because I really can’t think of a woman who would be a good choice.) The DNC/Deep State would seem even more evil and ridiculous.

Yeah, I know I am going to get pilloried on this one.

So Carson runs, wins (well, okay, loses after he is winning handily and vote counting is shut down at 2 am and then suddenly Carson starts getting behind in vote count, you know the routine) and gets in as President (after months of whatever conflaguration has to be gone through to get there), resigns and rides off into the sunset to become a wise, sage president emeritus type. The other guy becomes president, puts forth Trump as his VP, and then resigns and becomes head of the Justice Dept. or something he’d much rather be doing than be VP or prez. Trump then puts in cool dude #3 as his VP, whoever that is, Vance, Gaetz, etc.

Force the DNC and Deep State to deal with someone just a hair less problematic for them than Trump.

Your ide scares me.

  1. Trump would be doing it to thwart RNC traitors’ attempts to nominate Haley instead if Trump is soon suppose to surrender to custody after that date.

I'm not concerned about a stalking horse candidate at the convention. Trump has it all sown up.

  2. These same traitors, because they are traitors plotting against Trump, aren’t going to go for this moving up of the nomination date.

That's why Trump put his daughter-in-law Lara Trump in charge as Co-Chair of the RNC. The other Co-Chair Robert Whatley was part of George W. Bush's Florida recount team in 2000 and is a Trump insider who was on the phone call with Brad Raffensperger in Georgia in 2020.

  3. securing the nomination earlier does nothing to stop D states from getting Trump off the ballot due to being a felon...

Not possible. They already went down that road with "insurrectionist."

SCOTUS ruled that the requirements to be President are in the Constitution and that states cannot add to it. "Felon" is not a disqualifier in the Constitution.

  4. Trump, who won the most delegates is the only other person Trump as delegate leader would accept be nominated instead of him.

It's not in Trump's nature to hide behind someone else. It's his nomination and I expect he fully intends to receive it.

The problem with letting someone else take it "in good faith" is that power corrupts. No one can guarantee that the stand-in (even if it is someone like Ben Carson) will step aside after the nomination. To many players will try to influence the person to keep the nomination so they can insinuate themselves into the campaign, and hopefully, the administration. There is just too much money to be made running a presidential campaign to trust a stand-in to step aside on a handshake agreement to "do the right thing."

No pillories, just concerns.
