If I were Biden and thank God I am not. You know how I would make a race out of this — I would bounce I am pardoning Trump.
That would be the one thing that would forever frame this. Convicted felon and for the good of the nation I Joe Biden pardon Donald J Trump of all crimes and supposed crimes
He becomes a patriot. He can say the system was unfair and immediately memorialize himself as a patriot and forever stick convicted felon on Trump. Even if overturned on appeal the optics of that mean that trumps record is expunged. Or he can grant clemency and let the conviction stand. There is no downside for him.
As of yet, the President can’t pardon for a state criminal conviction.
