as with Germany in the 1930’s American Jews believe they’re living in one of the world’s most advanced and thus civilized countries and that it ‘can’t happen here.”
unfortunately, an “advanced” country is not necessarily a safe country (Germany led the world, or nearly so, in science, technology, art, music, most culture... and USA has led the world or at least been one of the major contributors to most of these things since then).. indeed, it was much of the intelligentsia including a great deal of the university set that led or gave major support to the Nazi movement....just as we are witnessing today in USA)
Sorry, Jewish people but...”it can’t happen here” is an Ostrich Syndrome. Not reality.
I’m really surprised that 2024 would be an uptick of immigrants to Israel
I thought that the first thing inability of the Israeli government to take care of gaza permanently would drive many to leave Israel
I still think many will leave Israel.
The only people I see immigrating to Israel are the French and English due to the antisemitism
Hmmm... might have something to do with the Russia/Ukranian war?
