Saagar talks about there being “enough reasonable doubt now” [that the case will likely fall Donald Trump’s way]. Note, in his world for this case, the starting presumption is that PDJT is guilty. No American-style justice here, but rather an English presumption of guilt that might logically follow from unbiased prosecutors *cough, cough*, as in Michael Dreeben’s fantasy world. Cannon’s incessantly being claimed to be in the tank for Trump and the raiding team not keeping a clean chain of custody was what Ball noted will come to Trump’s rescue in a way no one could have foreseen and in a way that only God could save.
It beyond all seriousness that Ball could utter, “I think this all comes down to ‘Who are the jurors, What do they really think—what do they really feel about Trump. I think that’s probably what this case comes down to.”
That Saagar & Ball represent the crap by which the Left would delude themselves tells us all we need to know. Compare the absolute legal rigor that Judge Cannon has been put through by the prosecution and defense. Yes, a normal human in Cannon’s position would likely have been incapacitatingly overwhelmed. But she hasn’t. In that sense, the prosecution’s case was a Cloward-Piven move, meant to overwhelm Cannon and have her cave to an avalanche of representations, claims, briefs and procedural filings.
With such an inclination of expectation that Cannon would cave, the Left extended their claws personally against Cannon from the beginning, as she requested a Special Master (SM) to review the classified documents themselves, to assess their content, possibly on suspicion of inappropriate behavior by the FBI raiding party and the scope of its warranted search. An appeals court canceled her request for the SM. Smith’s recent written acknowlegement to the court of the government having both manipulated the evidence, adding props to the evidence, then lying about having done so in a court filing, Cannon’s SM request is completely vindicated and we might have seen the troublesome prosecution activities discovered months sooner. Perhaps the Left could yet have met its Election Day deadline for a conviction announcement, but now, no one can doubt that in all other cases where the prosecution would have exhibited such behavior, the case would have already been dismissed. Only because the Biden-DOJ-FARA conspiracy team has more unaccountable, discretionary clout than any prosecution team ever will this case continue, as those claws scrape the ledge just before they tumble from their gargoyles’ perch.
DJT being extremely lucky is just one more reason to re-elect him President.
Not that I personally think luck has anything at all to do with it.
