Matthew 24:36 remains the definitive “end times” Bible commentary.
“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
It is not good to lust after signs of the Lord’s return for we cannot know. To defy God’s command on this is a sin.
And yet in Matthew 24:3 when the disciples asked '“Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”', Jesus didn't blow them off with your answer nor tell them that they were lusting after signs of His return they were sinning by asking. He could have told them *None of your business*. He didn't.
Jesus answered it and gave them the signs that the end of the age was drawing near. That encompasses verse 4 - 33 where He concludes in verse 33 with this.... Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.
If Jesus didn't want us to know, He wouldn't have answered them.
Then in verse 36 He specifies that no one knows the day or the hour, but that follows His entire dissertation giving the signs that His coming is near.
He concludes with this......
Verses 42-44 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
He expects us to be on the lookout and commends those who are as being wise and faithful servants who will be rewarded.
Sorry dude, but your lying mischaracterization of what I posted will not go without a retort.
You Prophecy deniers love to cite that verse in Matthew 24:36 without any other proof of your claims that we are not supposed to know anything.
The Lord wants His People to know.
Come back to me when you learn more about His Word....
