A Republican Senate leader expressed concerns to The Federalist that the bill’s provisions would endanger “honest, transparent and secure elections.”
HB 847 was passed along party lines, 102-99, on Wednesday and would permit county election officials to begin opening and counting mail-in ballots and absentee ballots seven days before Election Day. The results would be tabulated on Election Day.
But Chairman of the Senate State Government Committee Sen. Cris Dush said in a statement to The Federalist that the Senate had previously rejected a similar pre-canvassing provision in March due to concerns of “pre-canvassing endangering honest, transparent and secure elections which remain the cornerstone of our Constitutional Republic.”
“Just like House Bill 847, this measure also failed to include proven election integrity safeguards such as constitutional Voter ID requirements or proof of citizenship for voter registration,” Dush continued. “With the next major election only months away, I will not commit to advancing any so-called election modification legislation that does not contain proven election integrity safeguards.”
Other Republicans also expressed concern about the legislation, with House Minority Leader Bryan Cutler saying the legislation would complicate election workers’ tasks since they would have to prepare for Election Day while also pre-canvassing, according to the Pennsylvania Capital Star.

Processing early is common
eg Florida
When Absentee/Mail Ballot Processing Can Begin
Upon receipt.
When Absentee/Mail Ballot Counting Can Begin
Upon the completion of the public testing of automatic tabulating equipment (which begins not more than 25 days before early voting commences). Releasing the results early is a felony.
This is why Florida is able to report most of their votes on election night.

I thought the SCOTUS ruled that you can’t change the election laws in the middle of an election....
That’ll give them a clue as to how many have to be “inserted” or “thrown out”.
Here’s the problem...If you have to sign the outside of the mail in...it’s easy enough to look up your party registration. and “take action”.
Don’t give an inch. They wouldn’t.
I know, I know. The Dominion machines that tally these machines are password protected, and only Democrat Hac...er...election officials have the auditable and appropriate permissions.
Never mind that in the Michigan Antrim County forensic analysis these were just some of the findings:
But, other than that...yeah. Should be safe and secure, so they couldn't use that pathway to learn how to scale their fraud.
In Michigan for the primary we just had, you had to request a Dem or Republican ballot. They are also numbered differently starting with first digit. Example all dems start with a 3 and Repubs start with a 4. So folks know up front whether it’s republican or dem ballot.
That’s only so they know how many more ballots they have to manufacture for Joe on Election Day to give him Pennsylvania’s electors.
What’s on the most outer return envelope?
Worse, it will give them time to "cure" the defective Biden ballots will ignoring the defective Trump ballots.

NO!!!!!
If the election laws were applied equally and fairly throighout the state, this would be fine.
What happened in 2020 was nothing approaching equally applied and fair.
A lot of "nonpartisan" get out the vote money to sign up voters and do something similar to vote harvesting was distributed throughout PA, but largely concentrated in Dem strongholds.
Dem-heavy districts also contacted voters who screwed up their mail in ballot envelopes and allowed them to fix them ahead of time. This was against the letter of the law, but the law was ignored and poll workers permitted to contact the voters so they could fix their ballottes
County election officials to begin opening and CHANGING mail-in ballots and absentee ballots.
More like it rigging is a strong addiction.
That Fetterman boy mum on the deal.
