FBI WARNING: Chinese Hackers Preparing to Launch Massive Attack on U.S. Infrastructure – Have Already Infiltrated Several Critical Companies

Chinese hackers are preparing to launch a major attack on critical U.S. infrastructure and have already infiltrated multiple companies according to the FBI.

FBI Director Chris Wray revealed today China is developing the capability to cause significant damage to our critical infrastructure at a time of their choosing. The only question is the time to launch a catastrophic blow.

“China is developing the ability to physically wreak havoc on our critical infrastructure at a time of its choosing,” Wray said at the 2024 Vanderbilt Summit on Modern Conflict and Emerging Threats. “Its plan is to land low blows against civilian infrastructure to try to induce panic.”

According to Wray, an ongoing Chinese hacking campaign known as Volt Typhoon has successfully infiltrated several American companies in telecommunications, energy, water, and other critical sectors. 23 pipeline operators are being targeted.

According to Reuters, Wray went on to note that China’s hackers operated a series of botnets, which are constellations of compromised personal computers and servers around the globe to hide their nefarious cyber actions. Private sector American technology and cybersecurity companies previously attributed Volt Typhoon to China, including reports by security researchers with Microsoft and Google.

Reuters reports that a Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson claimed the Volt Typhoon was unrelated to China’s government but is a criminal ransomware group.

China’s Embassy in Washington released the following statement in response to the MFA spokesperson’s comment.

(My opinion) : Now, aren't you glad that you have all your prepper material already printed out on paper 'hard copy', rather than still only electronically filed ?

We are talking about water lines, waste water treatment, fuel and energy lines, as well as logistical transportation lines.
Also, locate and analyze some of your camping supplies from last year and fill in any of the holes in your supplies for this year.

Apparently a lot of people sympathize with what he said about letting it rip. But I don’t want all of us serfs to be starved, dehydrated, killed, etc., because of our bad rulers. With all the election fraud, it seems like we can’t even vote them out. But I still don’t want to be penalized because of our evil rulers. Do you think our “betters” will suffer? They have islands and bunkers they can retreat to.

The Chinese rapidly discovered just how cheaply and easily academics and academia could be bought off.

Absolutely. It's an easy way to stretch research funding, and if you don't do it the labs you compete with will. This is one reason why I think that anyone doing research being paid for by an NIH or NSA grant should be precluded from hiring non-Americans to work on those projects. These are taxpayer funded grants and should not be used to fund research being done by non-Americans.

We are using American dollars to fund the education, training, and advancement of non-Americans, while the subsidization of these non-Americans by their governments drives down pay for American post-docs.

Further, many of these people get green cards, stay in the US and compete for US grants, for which they then hire non-Americans to work on. They also make their way onto NIH and/or NSA grant review committees and favor the applications of other non-Americans from their countries of origin.

The motivation for American citizens to go into science has been eroding for many years, and all of this contributes.
