Obama didn’t show much interest in wanting to make the border wide open when he actually was president, so it’s not likely that he’s behind that now. Democrats could have gotten the “Dreamers” bill passed when they controlled Congress. That they decided on open borders instead reflects a major change in policy.
Would Obama want to ban internal combustion engines? Maybe. Would he spend his time doing that now? Probably not. He was basically just killing time in his last years in office and now he’s busy enjoying all the money he has.
